Sheltered Woods - add objects that allow use for Balanced Landing.

Greetings.

I'm Mr. Genny from the Block.

Please have the game designers think of a new object that can be applied to all MacMillan Estate realm that allows Survivors with the Balanced Landing perk to be utilized. Perhaps a some crates with a piece of wood leaning on it that would create a "ramp" style effect?

Many thanks!

You can use the Basement stairs, and you can kind of exploit your way up the main tree, and then fall. But I agree. It's the main reason I never run Balanced Landing. So many maps have so few spots you can use it on.

Right now, in Sheltered Woods, the only oppurtunity to use Balanced Landing is the basement stairs.

Then you get Haddonfield. BL is an odd perk, balance wise.

There was an idea on another thread of adding a tree house that you could jump out of on the center tree.

1-2 hills and some kind of MEGA TREE which has an entry with stairs to the top with a drop down.

It's not only gonna help balanced landing but actually the whole map since its the most boring map in dbd so far.

Please burn five of the houses on haddonfield so BL is not that BS on that map. Sometimes you get a free win, sometimes you have to work for it.

if BL is allowed to be completely busted on maps like haddonfield, it's allowed to be crap on maps like shelter woods

The map seems fine as it is to me. It contributes to the map diversity. Also, there is no guarantee you can use certain perks every match - it's all a part of the unknown factor which is what makes this game fun!

Just rework it entirely. It is a very killer sided map and just so boring without a central building. It has very little pallets and there are many deadzones with nothing to use at all.

Even just adding more trees all arond the map (Sheltered Woods amiright?) would help immensely, at least we'd have something to use against chainsaw happy Leatherface, Billy and Nurse.

Map is a nightmare for Survivors there's nothing to help you survive. No juke spots, barely any pallets, no buildings, no windows. Just got to rely on sneaking around, which isn't really reliable.

It is interesting though, that alot of maps are way more survivor sided. (I saw a video of it once on here but meh.) Shelter Woods is more Killer If I recall. One of the... 3-4.

I'd say it is the most killer sided map. The amount of pallets on that map is just too little and the edges of the map can often be deadzones with nothing to help survivors.

Hex totems spawn in bad spots, they become difficult to defend and are often quickly completely taken out of the match. Spies from the Shadows on a map without many crows doesn't provide much information. Whispers on The Game or Hawkins Lab map is damn near useless a lot of times.

In the same vein, Small Game and Spine Chill on The Game map aren't as easily utilized as they are on other maps.

Some perks are heavily affected by map RNG. On some maps, like Haddonfield, Balanced Landing gives survivors god-like powers. On other maps, like Sheltered Woods, it's more difficult to take advantage of Balanced Landing. That's part of the game.

Oh im not arguing. Just interesting. You want me to find that video?

  • Member Posts: 1,936

It was a video from painkiller I think. I watched some of his videos before

might have been. I just remember liking the voice.

Do not promote or share exploits or I will promptly report your reply to the mods.

    Exploits are a big no-no - PERIOD.

  • Member Posts: 113

Why don't you want things balanced?

It seems like you're okay with imbalance if things are busted for both sides?

How is that positive for anyone?

  • Member Posts: 113

    The map is very bland.

There's nothing interesting about it. The least they could do is move the shack around.

fix the completely broken unplayable maps for killers first before we start crying because one of the best perks in the game isn’t good on a single map

  • Member Posts: 14,110

I was told by a mod or dev before that it isn’t an exploit.

  • Member Posts: 113

What does the novella you typed out have to do with Sheltered Woods being one of the blandest, non-descript maps?

I never mentioned RNG, so why are you bringing it up?

I don't understand you forum members, sometimes.

You never mention anything about the map being bland. All you said was you wanted the map to be changed so Balanced Landing could be utilized. My response was that not all perks are good on all maps; Balanced Landing isn't the only perk that has this problem.

They are talking about people using perks that don't work as well on some maps.

Which is exactly what you brought up in your original post.

Balanced Landing being trash on Sheltered Woods.

I'll never understand some forum members, sometimes.

EDIT: @TragicSolitude you beat me to the response. Damn work got in the way while I was responding...

Don't threaten me with a good time.

It's not an exploit. Its a very well known spot that's existed for years. It gives no competitive gain to either side.
