Terrible idea.
A survivor could do diddly squat all game and walk out the exit gate thanks to the work of their team mates. Just like a survivor could do all or most of the hook saves, cleanse the ruin, loop the killer etc but their team mates were useless and did no gens in that time, so why shouldn't this hard working player keep their item if they got the hatch.

A simpler solution might be “the hatch doesn’t open unless the remaining survivor has completed the equivalent of one generator.”
Help your buddies out while they’re alive and you’re fine.
Hide all game, now you’re on your own while killer patrols gens or looks for the soon-to-open hatch. Whoops!

You fix 2 gens and then the hatch spawn which the killer can't close.
Ppl saying "survivors will just hide" so what ? Get better at tracking and put better perks for that purpose.
Ppl saying "killer will patrol the gens and that's just impossible to repair them!" No. I've done it countless times before. Fixing 1 or 2 gens wasn't that hard you just have to use the gen rush strat.

An unclosable hatch will never return. It will just cause more games being held hostage. The hatch is just a way to end the game. One person left? Spawn a hatch to force them to roam and hope you find them or the hatch. you found the hatch? Close it and now that survivor will die if they dont move in 2 minutes

Yay i gotta run 3 perks so i wont get held hostage. Sounds balanced to me. And what stops the killer from holding the survivor hostage? All they gotta do is stand on the hatch. What can thr survuvor do in this situation?

Spies. Really darn useless if the survivor urban evades everywhere. Bbq, doesn't work half the time. It only tells you if they are far away. And that barely works now because of lockers and hiding behind gen auras. Whispers is decent and works wonders here but it does not stop the survivor from escaping through the hatch.
Fair point, i honestly forgot about the gens lol. But either way i should not have to bring a perk so i can avoid being held hostage.

Okay not again...
Spies from the shadows doesn't work like that. If you don't believe me try this; make a custom game with a friend and use this perk with distortion. When the killer is nearby you'll see the token slowly being taken away. Which imo indicate the crows give your location when still not when being disturbed.

Distortion shouldn't even do anything with spies. It only works on auras. Not notification bubbles. Spies is a bubble.

I know but just like sensory perks saying "trumps all killers stealth abilities" the cake is a lie.
Edit: could also be that the devs didn't think about removing the protection from the notifications the crows send idk.

Escaping is escaping, if you escape with an item in your hand then you keep it. Does not matter if you did 0 gen or 5 gen if you escape out of the gate or via the hatch then you keep it simple as that.
Also how does this benefit you as a killer if the survivor keeps their item or not? (Assuming you are a killer main)
