Shelter Woods
So Badham Preschool was reworked but if any map that needed a rework it is Shelter Woods. Shelter Woods is basically an empty space with trees, with a few jungle gyms littered around the map and a big tree in the middle.
It's a map that feels it would have been alright the game first came out in 2016, but whilst the rest of the game has changed and developed since then, but Shelter Woods has been left behind, and remains outdated.

What the map needs is indeed more sight obstructions. That being said though, being the second largest map, you need to be careful lest you tip it's balance too far in the other direction.

Or could even be replaced by a new map or removed entirely.

Shelter Woods is one of the few killer sided maps. After fixing Haddonfield and all the farm maps we can talk about Shelter Woods.

I could get behind it if it means we can do the same to Rotten Fields.

I would be very happy to see this awful map get a rework. Frankly I am surprised the likes of maps like this were not reworked before Badham.

I think it's mostly fine, they just need to brighten all the MacMillan maps. I legitimately can't see Claudettes in a chase if I have lights on in the room. There are simple tweaks to make for the MacMillan maps re: windows. Other maps should take priority over the MacMillan series. Ormond, Purgation, Red Forest depending on RNG, Crotus Prenn main building, Haddonfield, Grim Pantry, are all awful from a balance perspective. Really not sure how those were ever deemed ok.

The map was "instant win" for killers back in 2016, then after a small pallet tweak, it became "instant win" for survivors, now after more tweaks to pallet spawning, we have our current version of shelter woods.
I hate this map as both sides. It needs a rework, true.

I just want a place to reliably proc Balanced Landing on Shelter Woods. I know you can use the big tree, but I don't think that's intended. Add a hill or something.
Oh, and maybe shrink the map somewhat. If you're playing a killer with no mobility, that map is painful. The gens are just so spread out, and there are huge lines of sight so the survivors always see you coming.

Remember the "moon bouquet" offerings?

@Nutty_Professor After Lampkin Lane I feel like they will probably QOL a lot of the maps until they get solid feedback. Shelter woods seems like it's supposed to be a stealth map but there isn't enough things to hide with. Line of sight blockers like crates and maybe an extra jungle gym or two would really help, or add more tall brush and make it similar to the estate, i could totally see small ponds with cat tails and high grass on this map. I do think it has a obscene lack of pallets, or they are spaced so far from one another they don't feel relevant. It's one of the few maps that don't have a center structure that can be abused and that really kills it for survivors. I would really like to see them put a middle building with the tree growing through the middle. Like some kind of backwoods hovel. Some of the maps have too many pallets too close together, this one has too few and too far without a middle building.

I agree. This map is just an empty space with pallets and some windows and that's all. But Haddonfield needs the rework more than Shelted Woods.

@Ihatelife Haddon just needs the Badham treatment. Shelter woods needs actual shelters put in.

Shelter Woods is one of few killer sided maps, and it fulfills that title like none other

Maybe the next update will focus on making maps better for survivors. They probably just prioritised the killer's queries as killers are generally more affected by the map that they're playing on.

- plays huntress
- map is either indoors or has 10,000 trees/rocks
man i shoulda tried harder i guess

Reducing the size of the map should help with that.
It gets smaller so killers can actually patrol it. And stuff gets closer so survivors can loop #########.
