What do you consider 'sweaty?'

Member Posts: 3,022

Yesterday, I had a bleh match against a streamer as my Plague. He, and his swf team, dced early. I found the stream, and watched our match from his point of view, to figure out why. Turned out to be the usual toxic stuff. Bad choices on their part, yet it was my fault, of course. There was one part, though, where I was coined 'sweaty.' What is considered a sweaty playstyle? I thought I was having a pretty chill game, until he just up and dced to annoy me.

Anything that is winning more than the other player. Obviously they weren't trying (getting sweaty) while you were is why you won.

I consider sweaty as, when one is sweaty, sticky and clammy....perspiration upon the face, wet patches under arms.

The only time I consider someone is "sweaty" or "try harding" which is not bad to be trying to win btw, but if is like lets say in normal game one survivor DC's or loses connection for some reason and the killer suddenly decided to play sweaty in a situation unless they play suboptimaly or have a truly terrible map then I might consider it sweaty but even then I don't get bothered by it.

If you shotgun energy drinks before the match, you're probably a sweaty sweaterson...

It's not necessarily trying to do your best. I see it as playing optimally even after something happens that would tip the odds in their favor. So let's say you load into a game, someone gets found and downed, and they instantly DC. Normally a killer wouldn't have to try as hard or play as optimally to win. You can let them get a pallet stun or complete an unhook etc and the outcome of the match would be the same, only slightly more enjoyable. A "sweaty" killer holds no punches.

I interpreted Sweaty to meet a player who has to completely focus and use some scummy tactics to perform better than his actual skill level.

Sweaty is just a term that scrubs attribute to people who play to win in a matter they don't agree with.

I really hate that situation: the killer has to 'go easy' just cause someone else rage quit meanwhile if the killer isn't that great do survivors ever hold off on the final gen while all 4 are up and full healed? Or even maybe give a free hook if they haven't even been while sitting at the exit waiting to leave because they never leave when they have the perfect opening to?

I personally don't want to lengthen such a match anymore where I already lost a bbq token and points after many people then going "I'll drop a pallet and jump back and forth now dc as well". Once had 2 do that and a remainder go "why not just farm?"...like I'm already getting less than half of what I could get why would I waste more time on that?

You're considered sweaty when you get up after a tough match and you have sweat between the crack of your ass...

You're real sweaty if your front parts are also sweaty.

@S_Panda What I am wondering though is how do you equate an entire DC with a skill level gap.

I mean, I don’t expect the killer to go easy on anyone even on a 3v1 but having played killer myself I understand how much easier it is to deal with 3 vs 4. It isn’t rocket science.

So what can the killer do? Nothing. Play the game how you want. Even including resorting to scummy tactics. I personally don’t have fun because it isn’t challenging enough for me.

I like it when salty survivors calls me sweaty or tryhard, its just funny xD I mean why are they playing a competetive game then when they dont want to face killers that trys to win?

Anyway I would call ppl sweaty or tryhard when they use op or braindead perks such as (noed, mori, insta hatches etc).

If focus and "scummy" tactics make a person perform better than they normally do then wouldn't that actually represent their true skill level?

It's just the younger and hipper version of "tryhard", both pointless buzzwords.

Sure, I won't deny I roll my eyes if I go against an ebony mori omegablink nurse hardcore proxy camp tunneling, but whatever. It's in the game, and blaming the player for it is completely pointless. I don't like the term "sweaty" at all and reserve tryhard for the specific type of person that combines an intense desire to win with the absolute worst kind of competitive mindset, the hostile and angry one that gives the very word "competitive" a negative meaning to some people, as that's what I initially thought tryhard actually referred to.
