Are devs actually acknowledging there is a problem with Dead Hard?
It is super annoying to use atm.
I got slugged after the game "thought" I used dead hard therefore giving me exhaustion. A teammate came to try to rescue and get picked up, I still can't use DH because it thinks I used it before.
This on top of the other hits that should have not hit in Dedicated Servers is getting ridiculous.

Oh, I stopped using that a couple days ago. I can’t count high enough for how many times I get the Dead Hard shakes on the ground. Maybe one day it’ll get fixed but hits in general are busted right now so who knows 🤷♂️ I recommend switching it for something else.

@itsmetimohthy Honestly I would but it was my go-to exhaustion perk because of how I play... (usually I like to be chased). Lately it has gotten to the point that I just estimate double the distance from where a killer would normally swing because of how many times I get exhaustion from these ridiculous hits.
I've been trying Lithe again because its the only one I am comfortable using outside of DH. Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing this issue.

Yeah definitely not the only one. Even when I play killer I sometimes see a Survivor get the DH shakes on the ground. I wanna say it’s because Dedicated Servers but it happened before them to me so who knows.

I never run it.
It's success depends on the quality of the connection of the killer. I'd much rather run Balanced Landing since I actually have control over it.

I saw crawling faster than normal for the first 2 seconds while on the ground. lol

Not If you use it right, you don't need good connection to dead hard to a pallet or window.

@Zixology I thought with Dedicated Servers in place it's actually not based on a host of the killer's connection tho?

I have had to stop running it since dedicated servers have been live. In killer hosted games it used to be like one in every 100 dead hards would apply exhausted (indicating I used it in time) but would still give the killer a hit. On dedicated servers it’s almost every other time I try to use dead hard.

Nothing is wrong with the perk. It's just the killer already swung and hit you before the server could give you enough warning about it.
Dead hard is a perk you time by knowing the delay between you and the killer. The killer's ping is hidden from you so you can't tell if they are really laggy to the server or have a decent ping.

@Mr_K There is definitely something wrong when I am clearly in the Dead Hard animation with exhaustion and it gets interrupted by a hit.
The perk itself is suppose to avoid incoming damage. As in, act like a dodge.

@Johnny_XMan You used dead hard but you were already hit. The server already marked you as down.

I think dead hard needs to be changed to work like Mettle of Man did before, you hold the Dead Hard button and if the killer hits you during that time then you tank the hit.

This is why I only use lithe or balanced landing exhaustion perks that actually help

@Mr_K So how does your explanation explain how it sometimes does work?
I have literally seen the start of the DH animation before it gets interrupted by a hit. Which shouldn't be a thing.
If the server is connected to how the perk reacts... that is a problem. Something is there that wasn't there before and I'm not the only one experiencing it.

That would make dead hard to be the worst exhaustion perk, as most of its use is getting to a pallet or window before the killer can get you.

It works sometimes because your button press to dodge reached the server before the killers swing.
Only thing I will concede is that aim assist is still active during the dead hard animation and can pull the killers camera towards you.

I switched Dead Hard for Lithe a couple weeks ago for the same exact reason. Much better replacement
