Lol communication after they disappoint us? I remember when i was this naive

Is this week still a possibility for the update? or we will we have to wait longer?
1 -
............... I have to go.

What I am disappointed at is that the info that you give us is not very clear or helpful.
I mean, you announced that the event would take place on the 22nd with the mid-chapter 3.3.0. Now the info is that the event won't take place tomorrow, it will be with the mid patch (which I repeat was supposedly going to take place tomorrow). So what we should assume is that tomorrow the mid patch won't take place. It's not very hard to say: "The event and the patch won't take place tomorrow. Both are delayed, we will give you more info on the next hours" or something like that. It would help us not be as disappointed as we are.
Next time please, be clear with the info that you are adressing, don't make us the players make all the assumptions like this for example: https://twitter.com/PaulieEsther1/status/1186395057219362817?s=20
I wish for more clarity on this kind of issues. Again we understand you can encounter issues that need to be fixed, and in order to do that you need some time, but please be clear with the information that you give us. Thank you anyway for the updates.
Cheers

Just curious here, were the issues related to loss of progress? I understand if you aren't at liberty to reveal that information.

Lmao, when the halloween event won't be releasing the same month as halloween pepe sad.
7 -
???
Even if its next Tuesday it'd still be before Halloween.
Halloween is next Thursday.

Dont let us wait an entire week at least, i still hope for later this week but my disappointment is insane

When BHVR delays something it's usually weeks, I'm setting my expectations low then I won't be disappointed and get my hopes up.

Just bhvr things bro inb4 "as long as its out by the 31st"

mega RIP

I wonder if the power outage they had affected their work on the event.
3 -
If the delay means that all (well, let's say, a lot) of the worst bugs found in the PTB won't see the light of day, well I'm very happy about that!
Probably the worst one was the audio collision - basically all generators behind a wall were completely silent, from what I saw...

We have not confirmed the date of the Mid Chapter Patch - the only date we ever gave was for the event. Unless we actually confirm things on this forum or our official Twitter account it's best not to rely on what other people speculate.
3 -
I mean, it is kinda obvious that the latest date for the Mid Chapter would be the 22nd, when the Halloween Event should be part of the Rift.
15 -
I personally don't care if the patch and event is delayed as long as it's actually dropped working 100% fine
3 -
This sucks as a console user I'm guessing another week as ps4 only does updates on a Tuesday 😒 guess booking holiday was a bad idea 😢🐷
6 -
I think everyone is forgetting that the event is supposed to start in an hour at 00:00 GMT. It cant because the patch wont drop until 16:00 GMT...so there’s a 16 hour delay. That should be it unless they had no intention of dropping the mid chapter then which would be a huge divergence from the last dozen patches.

If they need time to fix things, i'm all for it. I'd rather than then a broken patch. I've waited for Legion to get help and buffs, I can wait for this.
2 -
Aw bud what happen your been jailed ruff times to many buff Legion posts lol joking mate hopefully you can get out and hope all is well in stabby land.
I am all for fixes but this blows I booked time off work was super hyped us console peeps have been dying to get our grubby mits on the new things 😢🐷
3 -
i love how they say theres no date for the midchapter update, but they mentioned that the archives are part of the hallowed blight event, which had a date on it , which is part of the midchapter update
"The Withering Blight event is woven into The Archives (for an overview of what The Archives hold, click here)"
out of their own post :D

I'd like to tell you but I can't here. Sorry, but rules are rules.

I for one Welcome it for next week, i just pre-ordered Modern Warfare Im going to be playing that all weekend.

This good! This exactly the right decision. I appreciate and I respect that bhvr delays that for a better experience! This should always be the case, never rush a release of something. Thanks a lot

Reading this breaks my heart </3
2 -
just woke up and can confirm - i am not surprised at all. 😂
i feel bad for those people who booked time off in order to grind it out, must suck
there’s a massive reoccurring pattern in delays with everything in dead by delaylight recently lol
6 -
They wouldn't need to rush if they planned ahead lol Why are people acting like them NOT pushing their failed promise is a good thing? Nobody forced them to include this battle pass in the halloween event, that's them trying to drive sales lol
5 -
I think the big issue here is they announced the delay -the day before the event was supposed to happen-. Many people adjusted their schedules for this and now they can't really readjust it. Idk what the problem is, but Bhvr probably needs a bit more foresight than this.
Disappointing but hopefully they do better next time.

This means I have more time to rip through my hoard of Instas. There's always a silver lining.

I mean, every single major release they've had has been delayed with almost no information. Ps4 didn't get there store or clown for like 2 weeks. We just flat didn't get a summer event because they were driving for dedicated servers, which 4 months later are nowhere on the horizon. They blatantly backpedaled on the PASS fiasco, and then said basically nothing about it ever again. They are NOT a brand new indie dev company and haven't been for years. They're a full fledged studio, and should start acting like it.
Maybe they should've cancelled that 3rd anniversary stream to dedicate more resources to non paywall content lol
5 -
What I was trying to say: I rather wait and get less bugs than get something early with more bugs. Doesn't matter the content, it's gonna affect everyone.
1 -
Nurse nerfs delayed? Sounds good to me :)

ETA still unannounced makes me VERY anxious we're even getting it next week. That's kinda unfortunate i was really looking forward to this. Hope we at least get it started in time for it still to even be a halloween event
3 -
The things people convince themselves of. Because mid chapter and the rift were in the same PTB doesn't make them part of the same update.
0 -
That moment when you decide to come back from an extended break for the Withered Blight Halloween event... and it gets cancelled. Yup, still the same ol', same ol', I see. 🤣
7 -
Fantastic. Was going to rip up DBD all week but instead I'm going to shelve this game and buy Call of Duty on friday. Thanks for the disappointment dev's. I'm not participating in this event. F

Event postponed to...
Soon™
...Too Soon™?
6 -
I know exactly what you meant. I'm saying it doesn't need to be either or. Its absolutely possible for a development team to properly implement things that aren't broken
Yes if its broken or delayed delayed is better, but how about they stop waiting until a week prior to do a ptb and or actually hire a qa team.
2 -
The forums get flooded with negative posts when things get released with bugs or major problems and now people post negatively when they postpone a release as it's not ready.
Always remember they don't have to do any events or give us the opportunity to get skins for free but they are. We are not entitled to have anything so at least be grateful for the event happening at all.
It just seems the devs can't win. We have all at one point asked them to not release things if they aren't ready and when that happens people complain just as much.

Well, that's how it is. I think they just put to much together this time, the rift pass is so much new content and idk how long they are working on that. Tho, they actually skipped summer event because of that. Lets just hope the waiting will be worth, we can't do much at this point.
0 -
If it were just this time, that'd be fine. It's hot on the heels of the summer event getting cancelled because they didn't get dedicated servers done, and then just last year we had the fiasco with the store and 2.0 being delayed as well.
This is BHVR to a T, the way they can "win" is to stop over promising and start actually delivering. Whatever, I guess I will just play other games and let DBD get more dust no skin off of my back.
6 -
That's a really nice strawman you have there bud
6 -
It's actually not as what I said is true and representative of what people on this and other threads have been saying.
2 -
That may well be the case as bugs happen and are unknown but if they knew something was wrong and pushed it out don't you think that would be worse?
The rift is another discussion as it not being what people wish isn't the same as it not working.
1 -
A few patches have been postponed or taken longer to release than normal due to bugs. Not everything bug can be found and fixes for them don't always work and can end up making it worse. While it may work on the internal test on live it can affect a lot of users.
Not one game out there that changes constantly is ever completely bug free and most forums for multiplayer games are no different from this one regarding them.
1 -
They actually announced that the Archives and the Rift would be coming with each midchapter update during the anniversary event.
8 -
I remember a streamer tweeting that "these devs are the only ones on the planet who could screw up an event like this" when there was a problem earlier this year with the Lunar New year event. Now they take some extra time for this one and everyone still loses their mind.
They can't win. :/
3 -
Works for me.
Couple more normal days before I get stormed by "Reeee wHy YoU nO fArM"
1 -
If you're honest with yourself it's not "everyone"
The group of people who don't care about bugs and only care about new shiny things are complaining the most.
The group of people who don't care about the event and only care about bug fixes or the lack of bugs in new content are happy with the delay and voicing those opinions.
