So I'm pretty new to the game, just picked it up about 2 weeks ago. Climbed my way to surivor rank 8 last night after watching some youtube content from some pretty good / funny people. So correct me in my ignorance here like I said. Actually new,

So here is my issue.

In a map, im on by a gen during the start which is right next to a giant tractor. I walk around for a second to figure out the killer, see it's a clown he is going some place else, cool lemme start this gen. I start it, he comes my way I do what any good survivor would do? I become a ninja. I crouch up next to the tire right by the gen, my hat is the same color as the tire and my shirt matches the three strands of grass im in. He doesn't see me, kicks my gen and leaves, but comes back instantly. I have moved the heart beat never went away. He proceeds to take 30,000 laps around my tractor. Still no fault of my own im not in a position to move. He still hasn't seen me I guess he is blind. After alittle bit a crow begins to start flying around my head, now this is still because he is just lapping my tractor he never leaves. Meanwhile 4 gens have been done but here he is still lapping me. Then a 2nd crow appears and finally that gives me away and the blind killer finds me as the last gen is finished, hooks me and face camps me. I de-rank ( inc Rank doesn't matter comment) and im the only one to die no fault to my teammates they mob him and get me off, but he has a perk blocking my escape and he gets me again. I don't see how this is fair? I understand what the birds are for? But do you think there would be a way to code it to not give me away in a situation like this? What could I have done? I have clipped it from my stream and added it for people to watch?

You did the mistake and thought Dbd is ab horror game in he sense that you hide from a monster

Sadly this is not the case. You are supposed to loop the killer like an idiot by running in circles such that he eventually gives up so that you can earn emblem points in other categories

The birds are for people who are AFK. At a certain number of birds it actually triggers an alert like a failed skill check for the killer. Otherwise it's just the noise. They go away after you've moved for a bit or work on generators.

They were put in place because people would basically dick over their teammates by hopping into a locker and stay in there the entire match.

The term "This is why we can't have nice things" is an apt description.

I wonder why they didn't ever change it to something like "the locker kicks you out" or something instead. That seems like it would be more fair to everyone.

Honestly, I hate the crows mostly because when I'm against a killer who slugs all 4 people, I think I should at least be given the option to go hide somewhere (assuming they don't have deerstalker) and bleed out.

If you keep crawling they won't show up.

Little hint if you keep recovering crows will not appear above you even if you don't move so find a hiding place then just hold the recover button down

I hate to be this guy but it pretty much was your own fault.

Why didn't you leave if you're going to stay immersed in one position and not move you can't really blame the game mechanics for that.

No one was forcing you to stay there you could very easily just ran would you have triggered a chase probably but likely is it is you wouldn't have been camped and killed.

I do think that if the killer is near you walking the timer for the crows should be twice or more . I mean you are not not doing anything he near for #########'s sake.

Dude sitting in a corner with Claud hoping the killer doesn't see you isnt' stealth. You shoulda just walked away when he wouldn't leave, crouch through the corn and you woulda been fine. You sat there the ENTIRE clip and got 2 birds on you. STOP SITTING IN A CORNER. That's not how you play the game.

    Working as intended.
