Spirit DOES has footsteps while phasing, stop lying guys
A while back I talked about you can hear spirit footsteps when shes phasing,
even with beads, you know shes coming if you pay full concentration
then everyone on this forum trash talk me saying "someone tested it already, spirit has no footsteps"
I actually thought I was being delusional for a while.
Until mins ago I watched this guys stream,
You can literally HEAR spirit footsteps at 01h04m37s and 01h04m38s,
the streamer reacted to it too, saying "spirit is coming" in Taiwanese and reacted to it.
Two very distinguish footsteps sound.

So, whoever that spread the rumor saying she has no footsteps,
and whoever "tested" it, I just want to say the f word to you.

She has footsteps, I heard them often. But I think you can only hear them when she's really close and in my experience it is very difficult to hear them when the chase music is playing.

I'd never seen it disputed that you could hear her. (Though I'm half deaf and can't most of the time.)
I thought most of the issue was people thought she moved grass while phasing which apparently she doesn't.

Well they reduced the amount of noise her footsteps made quite a while ago and now they are only just audible over the sound of working on a gen (you can really only hear them when she's a couple of metres away).

As far as i know devs did not reduce the sounds of footsteps in any of the patches (i might be wrong so il be checking every patch when i get home)
Edit : checked, no changes for the footstep sound to be reduced in any of the patch notes.

Tested 2 days ago, she has footsteps.
I can also record it if needed.
Edit : they are also directional.

Her footsteps are easy to miss if you are distracted, it's loud (demn gens or crying teamm8es) or got not that good headphones. It's difficult to play against spirit, but it's very possible atm.
2 -
Yeah, you can only hear them when not in the parties I am in
1 -
It's nearly impossible to hear them with the chase music bursting away your ears.
I can only hear them sometimes. It's depended on being in a location which us very quite + having floor which makes loud footsteps (swamp). However, this is not reliable

Sure, if I'm playing with headphones and if I'm not doing gens or in a chase with her, I can hear her footsteps

She has footsteps - just good luck hearing them while injured with any chase music, or near a repairing gen. By the time you hear them it is too late anyway.
1 -
If you can hear her footsteps you're already dead.
7 -
Well, even with headphones it's hard to hear them because they are not that loud so making them a bit louder just when she is phasing, will be very helpful to avoid changing prayer breads.
Also, not everyone plays with headphones and there is a difference between headphones and speakers. So, if you play with speakers you won't be able to hear them

The only time I heard them was in temple in the lower floor and she was right next to me when I heard them
also you can’t hear them at all in a chase

If you hear her footsteps, it is already too late.

If the gen is loud just slap on technitain quiets it by half so she would be easier to hear plus has them waste a few seconds checking if the gen is worked on.

Technician lowers the volume of SURVIVOR's repairing sounds, not pistons themselves.
Not only that, but stridor slightly increases the audio of gens (increases their audio range, thus makes them max volume at further distances), guess what, many spirits run Stridor... .Her footsteps are way too quiet, spirit needs a small rework; tweaks to her whole base power and addons in general.

stridor effects the volume of grunts of pain and breathing, not gen sounds. Surveillance is the perk that boosts gen sounds.
3 -
Ahhh, sorry, I confused the effects with the Surveillance, true, my bad.
Still, the base generator repair sound are too loud to hear anything over them, especially these low volume footsteps, so it doesn't really change anything.

"Tested" is more like, "I play with music in the background and can't hear anything."
1 -
It actually doesn't. Gens are just as loud whether you are using Technician or not.
0 -
Louder from what I've seen.

I really want to know where the hell that band is hiding and why they are not doing gens!
1 -
Good set of gaming headphones you can stand at a pallet and hear what side she is phasing on.

It was changed ages ago, all stealth killers had the noise that their footsteps made reduced (Wraith, Shape, Pig, and Spirit as they were the only stealthy killers at the time)
0 -
her power is also faster and more deadly then Legion's.
*cries in Legion main*

I'll take your word for it as killer. As Survivor I do not notice a difference and I can't test it in KYF at this time.
0 -
Yes she does. From my experience I think the range of the sound is no more than 2 meters though.
0 -
I don't know why there are people saying she has no footsteps. I have heard them more than once but often it is difficult because of other sounds like chase music or a nearly full repaired Gen. It's like Myers' breathing or Pig/GF crouching. You can hear it if it's not too loud in your environment.
What do you guys think of her moving the grass during a phase? She has to follow the physical world, so should she move the grass like old Freddy did? (the only "nerf" I would give her btw)

Pain reliever did a video showing it was actually louder for the killer. Might have been a bug that has since been fixed.
