People are probably playing "Myres" because it's the Halloween season, not because he's OP. (He's not OP)
Also, INB4 you summon a huge angry discussion about one of the M1 Killers being for "dummies" or having "no skill required".

Hey! Those Myers are the Santas of Halloween - they’re giving you the spooky Halloween event that dbd is unfortunately delaying this year. I deliberately waited to prestige him near Halloween so I could use up my gateaus - a mix between my birthday and a trick or treat thing since I was eating up my good add ons.
When you see a Myers, you thank him and give him a hug.

The way I see it, he might not be mechanically demanding, but...The fact he doesnt have anything special in his kit except typical M1 hits just makes it more impressive if someone can do work with it.

Yeah, Miguel Myres is the long lost Spanish brother of Michael Myers. The theme music is very similar except that instead of being played by a piano it's played by an acoustic guitar.

Oh Myers definitely takes skill to play and can be strong in the right hands, he also has some really cool add-ons, but he's far from OP.
Splitting up (he can't multi-down with Tier 3), focusing on gens, denying Stalk by breaking LOS (denying him Tier 2 for even a minute can destroy him), and keeping your eyes and ears open counter him.
He's very good for an M1 Killer, but he's a Killer who depends on Survivor mistakes to really shine.

Also being a Myer main I am offended that u think there is no skill required it's like saying playing survs is no skill required

I've gotten a 4k as Tier 1 Michael (without Scratched Mirror or Léry's) but that is a testament to how many mistakes the Survivors/the servers made, not Michael or the person playing him being good.
I mean, in Tier 1 he moves only 5% faster than a Survivor and can't get bloodlust. You could probably run him around the same pallet for a minute without issue.

He's pretty popular and has a lot of fanboys and girls. He's not very difficult to play (difficult to do well with if the survivors know what their doing, but that's almost all the killers). If 1 survivor isn't paying attention or just bad and you get free stalk the whole team suffers and if he hits tier 3 at the wrong time the game can be over instantly. So you end up with an iconic killer who is really strong against low-mid ranks who can get lucky and is pretty basic to play.
All this contributes to him being a pretty common pick depending on rank. Needs a higher skill ceiling for high ranks and something to not destroy casuals and people having a bad game just by existing and looking in their general direction.

Michael does require skill my friend, he is a strong killer
Myer's however for your rank is popular, meaning he is not for "dummies" and that he does still require "Skill"

So I think I'll be the perfect example: main killer here with the doc and freddy, not the best in the fog but I do have my fair share of good games, mainly I play for the fun of it....
Now is Halloween and steam discount all the dlc. So I purchased MM.
I try him already a lot, always got destroyed against him when I used survivors, so I was thinking was pretty easy and op... WRONG!!!
He's hard to play for me, he's M1 with a really difficult skill and perks to chose imo. You go to the ham and the tier3 will basically play against you, play to stealthy and tier1 will condemn you to a loss.
Fun to play but hatd to master I would say and now he shine because the gimmick of Halloween
