Nightmare Idea to help Fix End Game

I notice a lot of people complain that Freddy is completely unviable as a killer; as a Freddy main I can say that while he needs work, he is not completely unplayable. He can still get wrecked against teams while he can decimate random groups with ease. His mechanics are unique and interesting for anyone playing him, I'd had an idea on how to help him fix end games. Being distinctly dependent on perks like NoED or Blood Warden in my opinion should not be the end game plan of any killer.

I did have an idea that might help Freddy in the end game that could amp up the suspense when facing him;

The idea would be for some sort of a diminishing 'fatigue' meter, from the moment you are put to sleep for the first time and woken up, you have a meter that slowly counts down (from about 2 minutes). Keeping yourself awake by working on generators, performing rescues or remaining within Freddy's lullaby radius will keep the meter from counting down quickly. (extending to 5 minutes depending on constant action) during this time, Survivors will be able to see flashes of Freddy and the Dream World appear and disappear allowing them to track his movements, and they will not be indicated with Freddy's aura reading as they are not completely asleep. Once the timer runs out you need to wake yourself again. This would put significant pressure on the end game, where it is much harder to keep yourself awake.

Each subsequent pull into the dream by Freddy though will knock this fatigue meter down by 30 seconds, but falling asleep from Fatigue will not reduce the meter when you wake up again. And these mechanic changes could remove the slowing effects of the door, allowing them to open at normal speed unless under the effects of Remember Me or a similar slowing mechanic.

    It won't let me edit it, so let me just add this in; 30 seconds off the meter for each pull into the dream may be a little extreme so maybe lessen it by knocking 10 seconds off instead. That way it is 12 pulls per person to be in a coma-like-state instead of 4. (that would be a little insane)
