What if keys could instantly open exit gates when they are powered?
It would fix all of the “exit gates are too close” and if you have one, but can’t find the hatch than this would work as well. They are both ways of escaping. It would also help on the 1v1 situations

It can't be, because the gate has no keyhole.

Maybe the survivors should have worked harder fixing gens if the gates are close, rather than leaving each other to die and getting themselves into this dead end.
If one holds a key already why not just open the hatch and escape? Should be pretty easy, minding a bit where the killer has been.
I'm survivor main but I don't think survivors are always meant to win.

Your team failed to complete the objective, so you don't deserve to escape but unfortunately hatch exists

Oh hell no

Then we would be seeing a HELL of a lot more survivors starting with keys.

Where is the keyhole on the hatch

Sounds dumb to me. The key is already a free hatch escape.
There is no need to make the exit gates any easier to open.

Hatch exist so the entity can feed on hope. And so that the survivor at least has a fair chance at winning.

I always slug but sometimes they DC to give their friend the hatch but it feels so unfair to me that they get a chance to escape even though they only completed only 1 or 2 gens

I agree.

EDIT : sorry, double post

Considering the design of the door, it's there. You can see a tiny gray point that might be a keyhole.
Anyway, I don't think adding this ability to keys would be a good thing.
If there's 3 or 4 survivors still alive after the 5 gens are completed, they will probably escape even if the gates are close to each other so there's no point.
If it's a 2vs1 or a 1vs1, well the survivors have failed so finding the hatch is the least they should do to deserve escape.

I mean it would be better, as at least 3 survivors can't peace out of the match without doing the last generator first. I'd rather see something like keys only letting one survivor jump through the hatch though, even though that would require that one achievement to be changed (or make the current functionality an ultra rare addon or something as the lazier approach).
I highly doubt they'd ever remove the entire hatch mechanic, so best we can really hope for is some sort of limitation to how much impact a key can have I think.
