I think EVERYONE misinterpreted this. I don’t mind franklins. I totally understand if it people bring in multiple medkits, flashlights, etc.
my point was to purposely bring it whenever you see someone having an event item, or during an event where you get items. That’s my point because killers will purposely do that to make sure you lose the item. Hasn’t happened to me but it sucks when I see it happen to others!

You probably don't play much survivor.
Franklin's ruins a lot of survivor's day. It's extremely annoying to drop your key/medkit/toolbox etc. and have to look for it later on if you want to use it. It was a strong counter against Instaheals before the nerf and it can still counter keys and prevent you from using items you brought into the game.

I use it in red ranks when the lobby is using full medkits. Not anymore now that they did away with the insta heals.

Thats not ruining anyones fun though. That's using a perk to make survivors drop an item so they can't immediately use it its playing the game.
That argument could be used for anything toolboxes ruin killers day/flashlights ruin killers day/keys ruin killers day. None of these are true.
Using a perk/item isn't someone intentionally ruining anyones day

Imagine if Survivors had a perk that disables the killer's add-ons.
Would that count as ruining the killer's fun or it just part of playing the game?

You're right those gosh darn survivors who cleanse totems are ruining my day by taking my hex perks away too.
And no i don't think a perk/mechanic that disables anything on either side ruins the other sides fun intentionally.
If survivors had to do something to activate that like do a few totems i'd love that perk.

No mither and babysitter: counters the Hound get on from Wraith and father's glasses
Calm spirit: doctor enough said
Spine chill and premonition: counters any add-on that gives you undetectable status effect also no counters stealth powers.
Sole survivor: counters Amanda's letter scratched mirror all seeing ghost face caught on tape in fact any aura reading and for that matter.
And that's just off the top of my head the list could go on forever both killers and survivors have perks that can counter or annoy others just because they equip them doesn't mean they going with the intention of annoying people

Them bringing Franky's isn't keeping you from doing gens or playing the game.
@Volfawott Does Sole Survivor work against those add-ons despite the tiers? Or do you need a couple dead to counter those add-ons?

Played against a Myers yesterday. He was defending his Ruin totem pretty hard. several people were trying to get it, but he would always come back and smack them away. When I finally got a chance to get over to it, there was this collection of medkits stacked in front of the totem.
Funniest thing I've seen in DBD for a while.

There is no Survivor perk that universally counters ALL Killer AddOns. Which is what Franklins does.
It's good to go no matter what the Survivors are running.And you even get knowledge that they are running something.
Survivors have no idea what killer they're facing, much less what add-ons they are running. Oh hey, I think I'll run No Mither and Baby Sitter today because If eel like I'm going to go up against a Wraith!

Franky's doesn't counter items. It makes you lose them. You are fully capable of getting your item back or hiding your items for when you want to use them. Killers need add-ons often to be viable and, like they said, some add-ons and flat out killers are countered by perks and items. You see Freddy's pallets with a map, for instance. Your really good toolbox counters someone's Thanta. Also please note survivors can keep their items if they win. Killers cannot. They need a ward, regardless of it they do well or not.
Also survivors shouldn't know. There's four of them, vs 1 killer.

No honey, don't start adding the word universal because I called you out on something.
I listed several perks that counters add-ons.
As for specific items survivors bring in you act like being generated by tool boxes is fun or blinded because of flashlights.
By that logic simply bringing in those items which universally effect Killers if you want shove that word out. Is just as annoying as bring in Franklin's demise.
However you can always pick up your item. If a killer doesn't have Franklin's Demise or they can't get around you being able to blind them they can't get around the gen rush tool box. You can always get around Franklin's by simply picking up your item.

I played against a Cannibal earlier with franklins, I was the only survivor left because I kept picking up a toolbox here, used it then a medkit. left with a flashlight. But I guess I was lucky bringing plunder's instinct since you can find items dropped now. So to argue against the Franklin's hate, Bring Plunder's

(Calm spirit vs. Doctor. OoO vs. literally any stealth killer).
Also, there ARE perks that disable killer addons!
Calm spirit negates the Nurse's new addon that makes you scream when she blinks through you.
Any addon that applies mangled is disabled with room to spare if you heal with Botany.
Huntress's and Billy/Bubba's addons that reduce repair speed are disabled (again with room to spare!) by a toolbox.

BTW, if a killer wants to waste a perk slot to make somebody drop one item, more power to them. I think their a fool, but I'm not about to tell anybody how they should play the game... well, except for weaklings that disconnect and suicide on a regular basis - those people can go to hell.

Yes it does. Legion is probably the best Franklin's user in the game.
And OP, you should be grateful if the killer runs Franklin's. They're giving up a perk slot that could be used on meta perks like BBQ, Sloppy, etc.

I think a lot of people missed the point here. OP is fine with Franklins in general. Its the games where nobody has an item going in but the killer runs franklins to stop survivors getting event items out...

Also with the plundering challenges can you really blame a killer for trying to deal with all the bonus things in the game.
I certainly don't mind Franklin's when I play as survivor because I totally understand to be fair I never bring in items no need to 🤯🐖
Plus plunders has a really nice new feature to it you can now see items dropped in a nice white aura so there is your counter to Franklins!

Part of me wants to play normally and let people enjoy the event, the other part recalls every teabagging, flashlight clicking, locker spamming survivor I've ever encountered ...and just says "f*** it, let's ruin their day"

I lol'd at the cool guy that brought the ebony mori. One of the other survivors dc'd during the loading. I was glad about that.
