Fix dead hard

Can you PLEASE fix the latency issues with dead hard? I can have the most beautiful ping but it still doesn't register. Well, I get the exhaust of course, but not the actual, you know, perk benefit.

    I had to stop running deadhead because it's too unreliable. Until it actually works consistantly as it should I won't run it. To clarify, I dont mean a free dodge every time, because you do have to time it well, I'm talking about when it just straight up doesn't activate or bugs out.

    Yeah I thought Dead Hard is the best perk until dedicated servers rolled around, then I started getting downed when exhaustion happens so I switched to Balanced Landing and I had a revelation so even when they fix DH I ain’t coming back to it.

    Yeah, Dead Hard is not worth a Perk Slot currently. To gain distance, it is alright, but to actually evade a Hit, it does not work at all.

    What can they do to fix it really? Best they can do is cancel the exhaustion if you get down.

    It doesn't matter if you live next to the datacenter, survivors. If the killer's ping is high, your timing is going to be off. With P2P you at least knew the killers ping to you and adjust your timing accordingly.

    With servers, you are reacting to an action that's already occurred. The killer is going to swing at you. That action goes to the server. The server sends that action to you, the survivor. You activate dead hard reacting to the animation or swing indication. The problem is the killer already hit you on their screen and the server has been notified of the hit.

    That's why you are wiggling on the ground exhausted. Unless the Devs find a way to predict future actions, this is how it's going to be.

    Interesting video (and read). But if I have good ping and the killer has bad ping, wouldn’t my DH take priority over the killer’s swing? According to the video, the data packet that reaches the server first takes priority.

    @kamisen if they occurred at the same time yes. But the killers swing is delayed to your PoV so your time to react to it is very narrow.
