anyone else feel... less motivated?
i don't know why but i'm just feeling... less motivated to play this game since the update. i pretty much just play when my friends are online. the challenges don't really feel all that rewarding. i mean its just level one challenges, but so far they've all been, "that was easy" or "thank god its over with". am i just too attached to my builds, my killers?
maybe the rifts wearing me down. the premium track only has like 3 things i want (all of which are charms, so likely to be exclusive...) so i haven't bought it and i wont. free track certainly isn't rewarding. there's also a lot of... heated discussions around the rift here on the forums.
the events also rather disappointing. its just bloodpoints and pumpkins. hardly anyone else is celebrating what little of an event there is. i've seen more of the lunchboxes than i have offerings. i don't think i've seen any of the skins yet either.
is it just me? anyone else feeling like this since the update?

For me, it's just been such a huge change. It used to just be new chapter releases, but fixes, map changes and buffs/nerfs. Now it feels like the entire feel of the game is shifting direction and, to me, is beginning to feel a bit more foreign as a result.
Dont get me wrong. I still love playing this game and I'm not going to be stopping anytime soon, but it does seem like the future of the game is a bit undecided at the moment. I guess we'll see.

I'd play more if I didn't have to wait 5-10 minutes for a lobby

I’m actually really enjoying the survivor side of the event, it’s so nice to get above 30k for a match for once, double bloodpoint only made this better. Killer side is pretty lacking though, I don’t even notice the hooks really, it’s not as worthwhile. I didn’t bother with the rift, there isn’t any cosmetic or charm I’d really love/want to grind excessively for. It takes ages to get serum but at least it goes for 60+ days...
Challenges were definitely annoying, survivor side mostly, I didn’t mind the killer ones, they were fun/normal gameplay, the survivor ones were just “don’t do gens, go loot chests, scare crows or do totems” etc and everyone is trying to do these at once ASAP, makes a few matches a complete mess. They also really chose this is not happening as a perk to use...but I’m glad you didn’t have to be injured and I just ran stake out with it to guarantee it first try. Can’t wait for the eventual no mither challenge 😂

The main thing that's motivating me is the extremely blue Nea hat near the end of the rift. However, I've also been having a hard time enjoying the game recently. It's mostly because of depression though, so take that as you will.
You could be burned out or "too attached to your builds". Trying out different killers and perks can be very fun and help you find builds that you love playing more than the most optimal or your current favorite builds. Here's some suggestions:
Obsession perks in general (Rancor synergises very well with "don't hit/kill your obsession" perks)
The survivor perks Autodidact, Stake Out, Head On, Plunderer's Instinct, Detective's Hunch, Dance With Me, Diversion, Head On, Fixated, and Inner Strength
The killer perks Stridor, Hex: Devour Hope, Monitor & Abuse, Blood Warden, Surveillance, Make Your Choice, Infectious Fright, I'm All Ears, Thrilling Tremors, and Surge
Fire Up + Brutal Strength combo
Agitation + Mad Grit combo (especially on Hag)
Self Care + Botany Knowledge + Resilience combo
Head On + Quick and Quiet combo
No Mither builds (This was my favorite thing to do for a while)

I feel less motivated now that I finished the tome level 1 challenges. And earning tiers on the Rift takes way too long with XP. I've played killer today for 5 1/2 hours, about 500 XP per match, and haven't finished one tier on the Rift. Not only is this not meant for casual players, it doesn't even seem balanced for hardcore players. At least six hours for one tier on the Rift? With seventy tiers? It's about as frustrating as they could've made it.
