How to "fix" The Spirit (not a hit piece on spirit)
Now before you write me off as another brainless complainer who thinks killer is OP and survivor should do gens in half a minute, hear me out.
The Spirit is causing a lot of contention in the community at the moment for the same reasons as Legion. The difference is that Spirit is actually really good.
I don't understand what's so bad about The Spirit herself, I think she rewards smart play and punishes survivors who aren't paying attention enough.
However there's 3 big issues she has. One of which I would think call out an important aspect of the gameplay, separated from herself.
Let's address the issues with Spirit first:
Make Prayer Beads Ultra Rare. This is something people have been asking for for a long time. It removes any looping counterplay possible through the phasing sounds. Instead, make it difficult for survivors to tell where the spirit is from audio.
Remove her collision during Phase Walk. There's no reason why I can't fake her by manipulating my scratch marks because she got lucky and bumped into me.
These aren't imperative in the slightest, but it will let her be more tolerable.
However, the biggest issue with Spirit is a problem that isn't unique to her. Stridor. Let me explain.
Despite being considered "training wheels," Stridor is such a strong perk on Spirit that doesn't work how one would think it does. If you need a refresher, at max level, it increases the volume of survivor's breathing by 50%.
Now what's the big deal with Stridor? It's basically a useless perk right? Well, it makes Iron Will useless. Iron Will is a powerful perk that's quite meta at the moment. That's because of the strength and popularity of Spirit. Sure, with Stridor, Iron Will reduces to 50%, but it's all she needs to down you in a chase.
That's right, the most popular counterplay against Spirit is useless with one perk.
I won't claim to have all the answers here. I know people will complain about spirit for a long time just because she's strong.
Also none of these are my ideas to be frank, and just a congregation of what i think people are complaining about.

I don't think it's fair to say someone's honest thoughts on a highly contested killer is useless.
Just saying "Let it die" or "She will be nerfed" is counter productive to having an actual discussion about her powers and how to accurately make her still powerful and fun against optimal survivors.
If there's no actual discussion then it will just turn into another ######### show.

There is tons of threads discussing the exact same thing that OP posted about, if he wanted to give his input he could of gone to these threads and done it there, not create a brand new thread that brings nothing new to the table with the Spirit discussion.

All I want is some counter play. All I ask if they give her a vaulting animation, rework Prayer Beads and Remove Collusion when she in haunting

Prayer Bead's effect needs to be reworked completely. I can't agree that by making it Ultra Rare that it would make a big difference.
My personal idea to change it completely woulf be:
Prayer Beads Bracelet: (Ultra Rare)
- Allows the Spirit to phase trough pallets and windows.
- Increases Yamaoka's activation charge time by 25 %
- Phasing trough a pallet or window will disable your phase walk and set it on cooldown

The problem is she punishes you even if you ARE paying attention.

A perk isn't counterplay since you don't know who the killer is and you need to equip it before the match. You need to be able to do something while in a match about her that's not hoping you can see the tiny glow of her shards if she's not wearing a skin or behind a los blocker, and then still taking a blind gamble about where she's going.
There's plenty of good suggestions out there to make her better, but just like nurse, my fellow killer mains see the slightest of changes and lose their collective minds and declare the character will be dead and how they need to be oppressive in all situations just because there might be a god group, 4 man swf, in their match. Completely ignoring the other 95% (hyperbole) of the game where the character is unhealthy.

My only real problem is prayer beads because it's free gen grabs. Id also like collision to be turned off because i feel like she should be all about mindgames and big brain plays. Right now i feel like the way a lot of people play is just trying to intentionally block someone. ALSO maybe sound should be reduced. I don't actually play her just against her so i don't really know how needed it is but i see a lot of people talk about how easy it is to track by sound....then again who knows if those people even play her.
Anyway they're going to nerf her into the ground if history is any indication. I just want to know when they're going to BUFF LEGION
