Unpopular opinion: Being farmed off the hook is better than losing a hook state

Decisive Strike is a handy dandy perk that always comes in useful. But to avoid the latter, you NEED Deliverance and that has a requirement in addition to having an unspoken survivor code of “don’t use it if a survivor is coming to get you.” Sure, you can use Kindred but being left on the hook becomes much more infuriating when you have it equipped - Deliverance is the only surefire way you can save yourself.

At least you have a CHANCE when you’re farmed - even if it is small and perhaps relying in part on the sense of justice by the killer - but losing a hook state guarantees your game will be shortened (and your perks perhaps become a lot weaker) and it’s just really aggravating to see absolutely no one trying to get you. Like, first you see them working on a gen or healing and it’s like “yes, good!” but then you see everyone move away, and then you feel like Kate Winslet at the end of Titanic.

Okay, I’m not 100% sure it is unpopular but there is a lot of talk about how people HATE farming. Which is wrong, of course, but like...please farm me instead of leaving me to rot.

Not sure how this would be an unpopular opinion.

If Survivors are too focused on gens and try to save someone last second before they hit struggle phase, then the Killer should camp out the struggle phase before the Survivors get the unhook, which will lead to what looks like you getting farmed off the hook, but that's on the Survivors for delaying the hook save so long.

Actually If I'm just gonna instantly go down, and don't have decisive strike. I'd rather just be killed. I could have looped the killer for a long time and gotten a gold or iridescent emblem. But getting saved into a smack is gonna badly hurt my chaser emblem. Turning a pip into a de-pip, or a black pip into a de-pip.

Though if you don't care about rank it's k I guess.

Also I think there is a bit of a difference between being farmed, and getting saved against a camping killer when you are about to die. They are genuinely just trying to save you, not farming. Farming is when you are in the middle of a chase and you run straight to the hook, and yank them off hoping the killer goes for an easy hit, and leaves them alone. Or they don't even let the killer get 10 feet away after you've been hooked and they pull you off the hook. Desperation saves, are desperation saves, not really farming.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion.

For the most part if someone realises they're about to slip into another hook stage they wouldn't mind being farmed just to give them some extra time.

What people have a massive problem with is if they've recently been hooked and they still got a good 30 seconds left and a random Meg comes sprint bursting in and yank them off hook before the killer can even walk 10 Steps Away.

Honestly being formed as a last Resort to save you from slipping into a stage is a lot more preferable but being farmed for absolutely no reason other than meh bloodpoints is not

I agree but the hate on farming comes from when they unhook you especially w/o bt and the killer is right there

Also, the number of surv that will sprint to a hook from across the map. I always try and move away from the hook and go back to gen looping, but if i cross a fresh set of scratch marks you damn right i'm going to follow it even if it goes towards the hook. Tho i also try and aim for the farmer rather then the rescued.

If Im about to reach another state than sure, but literally just getting hooked and somebody saves is stupid. the first option wastes more time

Only if you're about to go into the next hook stage. If the killer just placed you on the hook and was in the process of leaving then it could be considered an unpopular opinion.

I meant for the killer, the killer wastes time downing the farmed survivor and you stay alive a teensy eensy bit longer

Im talking about immediately getting unhooked while the killer is like 10 feet away without borrowed time
