Can a tangible disconnect penalty PLEASE be introduced?
There's been so much talk and 0 action. "Oh dedicated servers, those sure will track DCs!" Except we've seen nothing from that.
DCing is becoming warfare, "I don't like X so I DC, then the devs are forced to nerf it." It's really at an unacceptable level that anything and everything is an excuse to DC.
In the past we had one wave of bans for people with a DC threshold, but that simply isn't good enough. We need a tangible, more IMMEDIATE penalty system for DCing. People don't care if they might get banned months and months from now. People don't care because they can DC 3 times tonight as long as they play 30 games this week.
DCing NEEDS a stacking penalty to prevent matchmaking. Give everyone 1-2 free ones a week, then anything on top of that starts disabling the matchmaking queue for a set timer.
An instant, observable consequence is required to stop people from using the disconnect button as a weapon.

I agree, watch the hoards of defenders that DCers get because “I have a real life,” I mean that’s a lame excuse. If you have 4-5 games being interrupted by real life stuff every day you clearly don’t have time for online games.
Also funny how the kids always seem to need someone when they get downed the first time.

Setting a matchmaking penalty for DCing too much is a really good idea.
Disabling matchmaking only for 15 minutes would be dissuasive for many people, as there are numerous alternatives. (edit : the timer should only run in the offline lobby)
Personnaly if I want/need to leave the game as a survivor, I suicide on hook, so I don't loose my bloodpoints. And if I just need to be AFK for a short time I hide in a locker.

The worst offenders will get banned, but most of us are not getting DCs in our games by the worst offenders, we are getting DC'd by occasional disconnectors. If 60% of all players DC but only in 10% of their games that will ######### up a lot of games but not come close to a ban.
A timeout will have far more impact than banning the worst 0.1% of offenders.
