New teaser could be linked to Spirit's lore and her father
From what I have read, people pretty much said its the "First Cut" teaser
I remember that trailer in all of its glory, and I remembered her father holding a katana
In the lore for spirit, he pretty much went crazy and killed her, the entity originally was supposed to pick Rin's father, but noticed the rage Rin had at her father and chose her over him, but why would the entity ignore someone who killed people after snapping?
That's cause the entity picked Rin's father to be our next killer!
This is just a theory however, a game theory!

Who knows, they did a fakeout once before, but this time it's probably going to be her father. There's still a lot of unexplained lore regarding her bloodline for them to tease out.

Imagine it being the Spirit rework. Spirit now is a Survivor and her Father the Killer. Would be overkill.
Oh and... Didn't it say the Rin wanted to revenge herself? Didn't she kill her father?

OK, out on a limb here... Tome 2 is about Spirit? As cool a design as she is, I would hate to see any character too similar lore-wise to Rin!

Wait a minute. The devs said the entity denied her revenge , but the other killers got theirs or at least did their work...this theory may have more weight than I thought..

The lore said that she accepted the enitys deal for revenge, unless I misread, the entity didn't fully deny her revenge so maybe we're getting something to do with rins father?

Well regarding the teaser, it's probably not the nerfs they're doing to her, they also said that something's missing, my guess is that they're teasing the new killer, either that'll be her father or someone is another story

It would honestly be pretty exciting to see them expand on a existing chapter. That being said I wonder how the sound leaks could corelate to Rin's father?

The new chapter will not come with a new map. Maybe Yamaha estate will also fit the next Killer.
I'm hoping they don't do a generic Oni, or do something similar to the spirit like 'the geisha' unless they are really unique and interesting to play.

Most likely, the tome will be about her.
Best case scenario, we get an alternative skin for the spirit.

We know what happens to the father after he killed his wife and Rin, according to the Lore Stream that they did a while back, Rin’s father was corrupted by the entity and when the Entity took Rin, he snapped back to normal:
Did Rin get her revenge on her father? Did she kill him after her death?"
Farah - "Nope. That's the whole core of the vengeful spirit characterization."
Mathieu - "She got taken away before she could get her revenge. Maybe one day she gets rewarded with an opportunity. But probably not."
Farah - "The father was not able to make the right choices at the time. The revenge is also impossible."
Dave - "I like that the father is just like The Nurse. He was ripe for the taking. As the tragedy is in the making, The Entity changes its mind. I like to imagine that the father is snapping out of it and realizing what happened and is miserable forever."
I really don’t want the killer to be the father, because what lore is there to have? What can he give, both in design,gameplay and character that his daughter doesn’t give already? Several of her add-ons are objects that were property of her father, so you would have the same looking add-ons or very similar ones. He is just some normal guy that snapped, so he doesn’t have a lot going on for him.

After reading some things here in the comments, maybe he'll be a Survivor? I think it would be very interesting to see a real dynamic between a Killer and a Survivor they actually know that isn't licensed.
My only hope from this is that we get another map set in the Estate because it's beautiful. I want it to be another indoor map so it can focus purely on the mansion itself and not the garden, Japanese architecture is unique and the style is very pleasing to look and and wander in so this is my main hope from this.
According to the lore, father snapped out of his rage and went back to normal, probably depressed. If he becomes a Survivor taken by the Entity then this will be him after the tragedy he committed, he would be a different person, we would see character development for once as that really isn't something that's happened in this game before.
