We need a casual mode really bad
I hate ranking up, I hate being anywhere near red ranks, I just want to play a game casually and not as if the entire other team is just playing to win, not to even have fun

Dead by Daylight IS the Casual Mode. You do not want to see what a competitive ranked mode in DBD looks like, I promise you.

"Rank 1 Meta Perk insta blind Swf wants to know your location"

Technically, the game is a casual game. It's not meant to be a competitive game. Ranks are there to show how much skill the person actually has. Unfortunately the rank system seems to be broken because I've made it to red ranks a few times and I am NOT at that skill level.
The rank system isn't needed considering there is no rewards for reaching rank 1 or anything and it being a bad system right now. But it does not make it a competitive game either.
Play the game how you want and if people hate you for it, let them. They cannot control you. Tell them the game is casual and games are meant to have fun. If YOU are not having fun, what's the point in playing? So again, play your own way to make it more fun. :)

what do you mean? The game is a bullying simulator, the fun consists on who is more efficient at bullying their opponent.

I’ve played some games with casual and ranked mode and let me tell you, casual ain’t casual.
7 -
Srsly you haven't played the game in 2k16, that was a bullying simulator lol.

I agree and we can put SWF in there.

this is a casual game it's your choice to make it competitive
2 -
Until you are playing killer, then you have survivors who play competitively
2 -
that's their choice to play competitively
1 -
Yeah but if you are playing casually and they are competitively, its just a boring experience that can turn into you playing competitively
2 -
eh I never play killer seriously anyway

I agree.
I notice this when playing Paladins.
There are a lot of try harders on casual.
1 -
Yep, which is why I prefer ranked in Paladins.

Kill your friends is casual mode

Have a hard time seeing this is a casual game when you have those 4 rank swfs with flashlights which waste about 30 minutes of my time or i decide to run mori and they are like "oh you have to run mori to win so bad EZ noob killer". Mhm.

When it works it is

I just want a new gamemode tbh. A lot of content creators are getting burnt out at this rate. It could just be like 2 killer vs 8 survivors or a hide and seek gamemode. Nothing too demanding and it would spice things up a bit. Even if this gamemode was a limited time thing I think everyone would appreciate it.

A casual mode won't change someone's mindset.
If competative players join they will still go out to do the best they can which means nothing really changes.
I could see the above happening pretty quickly as some would want to run around casual killers and some killers would want to dominate casual survivors.

I can't help but parse this kind of request as anything other than "I want a mode where I get matched against weaker players more consistently, so it is easier to win."
I'm not actually trying to put words in your mouth or accuse you of having some sort of agenda, but, what else could such a mode possibly be for? Like how would it be materially different in a way that is satisfying?

I want a mode like this so I can have fun and not lose my rank when I am purple (Sitting in purple for now on), I always take every casual mode as a fun and relaxing thing
1 -
Would this mode still offer the same experience and BP rewards? How would it decide who to match with who, would everyone just be thrown into a big pool or is their rank taken into account?
0 -
@TheHoodiedOne Well anyway, my implication is that if there are equivalent rewards, all a mode like this would do is fragment queues and make them take longer, plus it wouldn't result in more equitable matches because it would still have the same spread of player behaviors.
And, if the rewards were dialed back or eliminated, no one would play it.
I dunno how such a mode would work, in practice. I think the real frustration here is with a lot of the players and how they approach things, and a matchmaking system can't really account for that.

It's a good idea, but I'm not sure the player base is large enough for a separate mode.
1 -
I don't think casual / arcade mode is a good idea - I think there could be maybe a rando invite button for KYF lobbies?
2 -
I don't understand what playing casual means. Shouldn't everyone play to win? Maybe I'm too competitive but I don't see the point of playing unless I'm trying hard.

Because playing to win leads to massive complaints on both sides. When you have no rewards to ranking up but more of the same gameplay and strategy issues that won't go away, then it's time to examine your game modes.

Since when should someone complaining make me not want to win? Why would anyone do anything at that point, let alone play a game? Everyone should just ignore the salty people and the devs should base changes on statistics and by studying game play.

Apparently killers listen to whiny entitled survivors and follow their rules to win friends instead of matches. Everyone should but we know that's not the reality with this game.

I just want to play with people who are genuinely around my skill level. I feel like the current system isn't working to that effect, especially with the rank reset #########.

Random Mode.
5 people join.
killer player chosen at random.
killer character chosen at random
all players perks and items chosen at random
could definitely spice things up and most people (not all) would likely go in knowing that RNG will be a big factor on who wins.

I wouldn't mind having a casual game where you can use perks and bring addons and a competitive game where you're forced to use your basekit.

If that's the case, poo on everyone who plays to make friends. I play to win. I sweat and I'm proud of it.
