"Camping"
If I'm playing Freddy, and I hook you in the basement, then I go across the map to patrol gens and then teleport back to the gen right outside shack in time to punish the unhook (going after the unhooker both times this happened btw), how is this camping? I got raged at in post-game chat for being a camper, when I did literally what I have just described, two times, from across the map. Is using the killer's power camping now?

Range camping
😉

Ignore the post game chat - It is rather taboo to communicate with the dead.

Yes

Hahaha yeah I guess.
"YOU CAMPED ME! FROM ACROSS THE MAP!!!!"

Right now Freddy is a killer that can effectively camp while putting pressure across the map. Think of it as an extended proxy camp as one of his powers if you can hook someone close to a gen. I mostly play killer, but can understand why this pisses people off. Same sorta thing with have traps.
And let's say they make a new killer with a power that literally is camping, as dumb as it sounds, it would be camping after all.

Do it like I do, if anyone decides to be a douchebag in post game chat I write down their name.
If I play against them again I actually facecamp and tunnel them.
Ez GG

Even if it was as camping, who cares? Just ignore them and take the dub.

Yeah, I tend not to get too twisted up about anger in post-game chat. This one was a serious mental gymnastics routine, though. People will call anything they don't like camping, it baffles me.

@Rydog I feel like messing with their heads would be a better way to vent than a DBD forum post. If I was them and I saw this, I'd feel pretty good.

Camping is being anywhere on the map while a survivor is hooked. How dare you.

Eh, I'm not too concerned with their feelings one way or another. I just find this particular leap in logic so extreme. I'm assuming they're probably just kids and have no capacity for any kind of deeper consideration, so they just go "hurrrr CAMPER."

Wonderful how a few colored dots on a flat surface can spark up a mans madness.

Like you aren't supposed to return to the hook at any time, amiright?
Ignore it. People are gonna fuss no matter what you do.

It's simple. If you don't let the survivor unhook and be fully healed before encountering them again you're a camper. At least that's the conclusion I've come to from observing post game chat.

Oh yes thank you! I forgot that part.

dude same but i was using MYC and got a 4k because the gen was above the basement and they were not waking up so whenever they saved someone i would get the MYC, go outside the 32 meter range and patrol the gens than tp back once someone got saved.

Just run make your choice so they can't complain ;)
Freddy is a lot like hag in that if he gets a basement hook, nobody's getting out safely. I get chills every time i see a gen on the killer shack basement.

Ok. If you were a Hag, who placed 3 traps at my feet, or om the basement stairs, then I'd call it camping by proxy. Freddy though relies on generator placement, and it's the survivors fault for not waking up.
They also probably called you a camper because they couldn't call you a tunneller since you went after the unhooker, which is actually better for both sides.
Funny thing is though I don't get called a camper when I phase back as Spirit. Or a tunneller when the unhooked idiot runs directly into me a minute later.

I find it funny when someone tells me post-chat that I shouldn't camp during EGC because then I won't learn anything. As if they are actually being sincere with that.

Haha. Once gates are open and the clock is ticking down, "fair play" is out the window entirely. That's the one time I literally will just not leave a hook, because everyone else either escaspes, or they're hanging around trying to get a save.

But how will you learn if you don't let them escape? :P
