Bond/empathy/kindred baseline to close the gap between SWF and solo survivors

I play as both sides, as a killer I don’t mind SWF I actually find they are usually fun except for the 1 out of 10 or whatever that is super toxic.

As a survivor though I’m annoyed I have to use perks to get the same level of info they get just from comms.

Devs already shot down the idea of kindred basekit.

    Really? That’s a shame.

Yesterday had a perfect example we were against insidious LF and first person he downed he took to basement and camped. Thanks to that player not killing himself and having kindred the other 3 of us just cranked out the gens and left.

So if he hadn’t had kindred one of us at least would have also got caught trying to save him probably. But a SWF would be safe no matter what their perks were.

Bond, empathy, kindred, better together, etc are all built in to SWF

Knockout is an example of a killer perk that is really useless against SWF

Take it from someone who runs Kindred every game he can: it doesn’t stop altruism lemmings. I’ve got multiple recordings where I’m being hard camped by Leatherface and yet, despite everyone seeing each other, they ALL come for the rescue and the killer gets a 4k.

Kindred is an excellent perk, it deserves its slot in my build and I’m happy to have it as a perk. I can, however, confirm that it won’t solve the problem you’re looking for. Information doesn’t stop idiots from being idiots.

On the flipside, even without Kindred you can make informed decisions. Had a Leatherface basement someone. My wife and I were each doing a gen, I had the perfect view as the Nea went for the save. Brief chase, now there’s a freshly rehooked Claudette and a newly hooked Nea in the basement. I don’t gain heartbeat the whole time I’m finishing my gen, nor does my wife. So the killer is 100% camping the basement...so we finish our gens and leave. Got salt for not trying for the rescue from the Nea, but we denied the killer a lot of points for his bad strat so it’s whatever.

I know right? I don’t get the attitude some survs have where you MUST try to save everyone. I’m happy to die on the hook when the killer doesn’t want to leave if it means my teammates capitalize on it. Nothing frustrates me more as either side than altruism lemmings. As survivor because it means the killer is rewarded for the behavior and as killer because if I see you coming for the save immediately of course I won’t leave, and now I’m being accused of camping after the game. Can’t win.

OMG my heroes!!! Too many people reward these campers by trying for impossible saves, if I had been on hook and you left me against basement Bubba I would have cheered for you!!!

I think at the very least the killer aura part of kindred should be base
