The Fall 2019 "Guess the Killer's Name" Competition!
Man, it's been a long time since I've been able to make one of these. Two licensed chapters in a row, and then before that the Plague's name was revealed in the first and only trailer.
But here we are again, at long last!
The "rules" are simple; guess the new killer's "The" name before they're officially announced and win bragging rights until the next season. Feel free to choose the same guess as someone else, or pick multiple names, but just don't go through half the dictionary.
Our hints this time:
Reddit user rakuzo has provided a translation for the voice in the trailer:
お前の血は山岡のものだ (Omae no chi wa yamaoka no mono da)
"Your blood belongs to the Yamaoka's"
We also have a tweet from yesterday, followed by a tweet saying that "Something's missing...":
Astute players have concluded that where once there were two katanas, now there is one!
We have a lot to work with here, a lot to speculate about!

Thing is, its never obvious with these teasers. They usualy lead us to something that its clearly not. In this example, it was the katana. However, what i really think is missing is the Demon Mask (red one), which is shown in full teaser released on youtube.
Second thing is, while Rin's father makes most sense, its too obvious. Personaly i belive its Rin's mother, taking the shape of The Yokai (japanese demons, which is probably killers name), or even The Ogress, which is a demon that mourns for loss of her child (in this case, its Rin). I know this is a longshot, but it would be awesome if i guessed correctly.
TL;DR -> It's the red demon mask missing, not katana. Killer is The Yokai/The Ogress, being Rin's mother, mourning the death of her child, Rin.

Is the mask missing ingame? I played the map yesterday and saw it there, but with the trailer being released this morning (11/13) it couldve changed idk

Adam's uncle is the killer, the survivor is Rin's father. Adam's uncle doesnt really like the dad much as his nephew is now stuck forever being chased by the Spirit.

I also think it might be important to remember the lore from the original Chapter 9, much of which might be explained again with this upcoming update:
"The estate was bought by the first of the Yamaoka, a shipwreck survivor, who came from a distant ashy island. He washed ashore just as political tensions sparked the flames of war.
Yamaoka joined the battlefield and unleashed hell on his foes. No one could match the raw fury of his Katana, which elevated him to a legend. They say his devilish mask haunted the dreams of all men.
His fame grew as he spilled blood on both sides of the conflict. With power came wealth, which he used to buy the estate and begin his legacy.
The land was passed down from one generation to the next, each one leaving its mark on the landscape. The garden grew and expended through the ages. Now only an old maple tree remains untouched from Yamaoka's era, representing the whole family."
"While the Yamaoka Estate displayed a glorious past, the Family Residence was falling apart. The house needed numerous renovations to remain habitable.
The last generation of the Yamaoka family were facing troubled times. Their finances were dire and the situation worsened when the daughter started university, just a few months before the mother became ill. Shouldering both university fees and hospital bills, the father worked past exhaustion.
To keep a roof over their heads, he profaned their legacy. The walls of their ancestral home were sealed with mouldy materials for a cheap fix.
As the house was stripped of its integrity, an old anger was awakened."

So, going off of all of that..
I'm going to co-sign off on a few obvious ones: The Oni, Samurai, Ancestor all seem possible.
Reading over the lore, I have two of my own guesses: The Mask, The Guardian.
BTW, usually names are pretty simple, but if this one turns out to be some obscure Japanese word, I think "close enough" guesses should/will count.

And I also said I'd give credit to people who were close enough, and Oni/Demon are close enough. Picking Demon over Oni was probably just an assumption they wouldn't use the local language in the name of the killer.
