Are current exclusives owners going to receive any bonuses?
Like seriously, who thought it would be a good idea to give away all the exclusives for free?
Are current exclusive owners going to receive any bonuses? A special variation of the owned exclusive skins maybe? Because if you get nothing for grinding or spending money (talking about Pax and also buying the exclusives) and someone who just installed the game gets all the rewards for doing absolutely nothing, then it's really unfair. They simply don't deserve these skins. If current exclusives owners aren't getting anything, then add these skins to the shop for 1080 auric cells or whatever so at least they won't be used by everyone in the game and will keep some of their rarity.
Also, if they get added to your inventory by default, will these free skins be changed to "Common"? Because something like that doesn't deserve to be called "Ultra Rare" if you see it every game.

Those who had the exclusives got to use them first.
That's your reward

You want them to give exclusives to exclusive owners to make up for making exclusives non-exclusive?
Do you understand why that would be very counterintuitive?
19 -
They JUST released a fog whisperers charm. They clearly don't mind making new exclusives. At the very VERY least exclusives should be artifact rarity.
4 -
Charms are a whole other conversation. They're small enough to not even be really noticeable, and there are going to very quickly be so many of them that they lose all meaning.
Also, who cares what rarity exclusives are? They're "exclusives" rarity, the rarity is just a color on your personal game UI. It doesn't mean anything.
5 -
Ok and most exclusives are not that noticeable either. Most of them are recolors of default skins. They should do something to acknowledge people who earned them and had them before. Yes the rarity is just the UI. But as cheesy as it sounds I like seeing the cosmetics I earned in the game and that's why I keep playing. Also it seems like a majority of people offering opinions on exclusives don't even own any. If you don't own an exclusive I wouldn't expect you to understand.
1 -
If you're upset about everyone getting the "exclusive" cosmetics you probably paid an absurd amount of money for the cosmetic and now feel dumb. Is there an actual problem with people having cosmetics they probably won't use anyway?
8 -
Why should they get anything extra?
2 -
They don't want to see other people getting scammed but they love to scam on their own. Ironic.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but I have learned over my life that these kinds of attachments are meaningless.
I've got plenty of exclusive skins, items, and so on from conventions, preorders, and so on, for many games. These aren't achievements. Going "looky what I have" to other players isn't gratifying. I mean, maybe it is to some players, but this ultimately amounts to what I would call a lopsided value system. Also, other players having the thing doesn't prevent you from continuing to enjoy the thing.
For example, I have the Big Battle Bear mount in World of Warcraft, which was a rare WoW TCG exclusive. If it were given to all players tomorrow, I wouldn't care. I don't understand why people would care. I still have it and can still use it. Maybe if I had paid $700 or whatever it goes for on eBay, I'd be mad, but the anger would absolutely be at myself for having made such a poor decision.

Good for you! You sound like a real swell lad. Thanks for the input. Unfortunately some people enjoy having exclusive things so you can stop speaking for everyone.
5 -
I mean, we're going to have to agree to disagree, I guess. Decisions in favor of this mindset are just not normal or healthy, and they encourage a strange set of value propositions for the game, which we are now seeing play out on the forums. I dunno what else to say.
Respect to Behaviour for ripping off this band-aid, though. In the long term, this was the right choice, and it probably should have come sooner.

What scam? Please elaborate because as far as I can tell you don't know what a scam is.

...But they didn't. The only thing they did was make MOST exclusives worthless. Hype Nea, legacy accounts, and Bloodletting are still being sold for exorbitant amounts of money. If they consistently got rid of every exclusive I would not care. They only thing they did is make my specific exclusives worthless while making the remaining ones much more expensive. And that's not even considering that they are still making new exclusives for fog whisperers and giving out twitch shirts. If their values where "No exclusives" they would distribute these to everyone. If anything they made this game more elitist.

Honestly I’d be fine with just some sort of shard or auric cell bonus, but then again I’d be ok with nothing seeing as I only paid for the Bloodletting (their merch store) and Donkey David ($50). The rest I got free through giveaways, so it’s not like I’ll be too butthurt about not getting anything back; I’m just glad I can FINALLY use Golden Feng and Ace Hats without paying $800 for just one.

We get it Angela you're happy with the changes you don't need to reply to every comment I post.
1 -
I don't even care about the changes. I'm not going to use any of the cosmetics probably. I'm just having fun pointing out how entitled, transparent and childish so many of you are.
3 -
I love that you say "agree to disagree" and then immediately belittle and insult the opposing opinion.
For sure took the high road there fam

Your life must be so sad if that's your source of fun

Nah, just bored since I'm really sick right now.
The irony of your post is most delicious though.

They aren't worth anything, beyond what you attach to them.
In terms of expensiveness, if you're talking about what some of these things go for on eBay, it's out of control, and I absolutely don't think it's out of line for Behaviour to want to tamp down on that. At best, the secondhand market is preying on extremely artificial rarity, and at worst, people are getting scammed in ways that Behaviour can't control. If you're looking at this from a dollars-and-cents perspective, I think you are on the wrong side of it, because I think it is absolutely in Behaviour's interests to put a stop to it.

Kinda like calling someone entitled but then saying they are entitled to exclusive cosmetics they didn't earn? Or calling someone childish while stalking every comment they make?
0 -
If someone's dumb enough to pay for a recolor that's them. They don't need to ruin in for everyone else.
1 -
Meanwhile they look down on everyone else who does it lol
1 -
Value is subjective by definition. Your subjective definition is no more valid than theirs.
0 -
That's effectively what I just said -- they're only worth what you attach to them. That's totally subjective, we agree on this completely.
What I pointed out in my last post, though, is that Behaviour has every right to tamp down on the excessive prices in the secondhand market, and head off some of the scams that are happening. A narrow minority of players who are super-attached to these items, and associate them with some special significance (which is just as subjective), shouldn't be a roadblock to that.

Personally, I don't see the problem people are having with these cosmetics coming out for everyone. It's just a recolor of existing cosmetics.
You still have it, you still can play with it. I'd understand if this was legacy we are talking about but it's just cosmetics they gave out during conventions for free and a few event cosmetics.
It's not that big of a deal.

No confirmed answer yet. Seems to be dodged quite a bit though.

Lol

You didn't even earn them, they were randomly given out by streamers to people...
You got to PAX to see the games and meet the people, not for a skin.
3 -
It'd be nice to get like 1k Auric Cells per exclusive cosmetic piece or smthn.
0 -
They were meant to be free, you want BHVR to step into code sellers' shoes too?
0 -
They weren't free.
0 -
If you say so,
I would love to see the original price of those cosmetic.
0 -
Being there at the time and completing the goal.
0 -
... Maybe if they knew it was to be a temporary exclusive.
0 -
You can get them tho. Just be a fog whisperer aswell
0 -
You're entitled to absolutely nothing. It's fine. Accept that pixels in a game don't make you special.
4 -
It is a win win. The hundreds of dollars saved from a player spending into them exclusive skins from a random guy can potentially be used in the in dbd store or battlepass. It's really a step which benefits both sides.
0 -
They never mentioned those event cosmetics were exclusive either.
0 -
But why? Bhvr gave them out for free, why would they give you money just because you got them, uhm, for free earlier? Doesn't make sense to me honestly.
0 -
A charm would be nice. Or 20k bloodpoints for every exclusive you have. Or some iridescent shards. *Something*
0 -
bruh the whole point of being a fog whisperer is getting items and rewards for streaming the game quit bringing in streamer related items it makes u look dumb
0 -
They weren't free.
0 -
Yes. They were.
You spent time unlocking them? You've had hundreds of times the amount of time with the item than they took too unlock. At this point they actually costed you next to nothing, if we are converting time into money.
Also, its not like you really did anything other than play the game to unlock them.
0 -
Doesn't mean they weren't free.
You also left out the cost of having to be there at the time.
0 -
Pax tickets alone costed $50. Free and $50 is the same thing so I guess we could say people got them for free, right?
