Why the Dev's should make the Ultra Rare cosmetics free, but put the Event cosmetics in the store.
The reasons the Dev's have decided to give everyone not only the Ultra Rare cosmetics, but the Event ones (As far as I can tell), is because the Dev's don't want to have exclusive cosmetics in the game anymore. While I understand why the Dev's want to do this, there's a difference between the Ultra Rare and the Event cosmetics.
The Ultra Rare cosmetics were never supposed to be sold, and since the Dev's don't want exclusives anymore either, it makes sense to just give away those cosmetics. While the same logic can be used for the Event cosmetics, there's one thing that separates them from the Ultra Rare cosmetics, and it's the same logic that's used for keeping the Legacy cosmetics from becoming free to everyone.
Ultra Rare cosmetics were never earned, just some fun free cosmetics given away at conventions. But the Legacy and Event cosmetics were all earned by players in-game. And the Dev's expressed that as a reason to keep the Legacy cosmetics exclusive too. With that reasoning, The Dev's should do the same thing they've been doing with all *earnable* Event cosmetics and put them in the in-game Store for a price.
I understand that the Event cosmetics were not originally created for a profit, but in 2019 Dead by Daylight, all other earnable Event cosmetics are made for a profit. And not only would it make sense consistency wise, but all the players that took the time to earn the cosmetic are still awarded for participating in those events.
EDIT: The Dev's could also do another Scorching Summer BBQ Event and just put either Survivor Chops or Frosty Margaritas deep into the Free Track of that Rift, and then grant players the ability to purchase the Event cosmetics for free, with that currency too.

I mean, they did this with halloween blight event. Why not add another currency like serums, but for the other events aswell? and of course make that currency available only when the event is ON. Otherwise you can buy it with Auric Cells.
They already have the icon. Lunar coins and Porkchops, it would work perfectly! Specially because of how grindy they were at the time, when matchmaking was broken.
I legit spent all of my free time of college to get a single piece of Legacy (which I am happy for) and same for the event cosmetics.

This sounds fair, the Event cosmetics can be sold during that event next year, nothing new since everything in the Rift will be sold 6 months from their Rift, that's half a year compared to the Event cosmetics so it's not like they're not doing this already.

Are people still on this? Literally there are dozens of threads on this already.
They have already made a statement as to why some cosmetics but not others.
As far as Legacy, those players literally put in hundreds of hours for that (event exclusives took maaaybe 20 hours tops) in the game's early stages when nobody knew what its future would hold. They were basically the pioneers and "investors" that made the game what it is, provided early statistics, and helped the devs figure out what direction to take next. Let them have their thing.
Convention cosmetics? Given away for free. It's not the devs' fault that people slapped them on eBay the second they realized how rare they were. The prices have only been going up more and more the past months, and it's outrageous. About a year ago I heard of someone buying Golden Feng for around $250. Then a little later I heard $500. I know No0b3 spent $800 just a few months ago. It's ridiculous and predatory, and the devs are making those codesellers obsolete. No, they won't charge money for them, because the backlash would be insane (because they can't win either way.) It was free in the beginning when they were giving codes out, so they can't, in good conscience, turn around now to shut down the codesellers and then put their own price tag on it. Though I would understand if they did, just saying out loud sounds scummy.
Enjoy the fact that you had exclusive access for this amount of time. And honestly let's be real, are you even wearing those event cosmetics on a regular basis? I doubt it, because I never see anyone wearing them. So what it comes down to is just quietly admiring them in your inventory. And if that's the case, nobody besides you knows you earned them anyway, so what does it matter at that point?
This is honestly the only community I've ever seen that finds something to complain about every step of the way, even when receiving free cosmetics. Holy moly. Y'all need to move on. Get some fresh air. Your life will go on, I promise.

Did you even read my post? I acknowledged the fact that it made sense for the Ultra Rare cosmetics to be free. I'm only arguing for the Event cosmetics to be put into the Store.
EDIT: Also I think you commented that twice somehow...

I believe Peanits said they don't want to do that because they want to avoid making the people who lost their cosmetics pay for them.

I did see that actually. Infact, I believe that was another reason for keeping the Legacy exclusive too. But the Dev's said that they just haven't been able to find a way to track who lost their Legacy and Event cosmetics.
They could still do the above, and once they can isolate all the players who've lost either Scorching Summer BBQ or Howling Grounds event cosmetics, they can either give them the cosmetics they lost or reimburse them with Auric Cells.

My first post was similar to this, but the other one took a much more radical stance, and it was lacking information.
