The game is less enjoyable

Probably been posted here plenty of times, but I would like to put my two cents in. This game is full of promise, absolutely full of it. This is proved by their ability to partner with larger projects (like Stranger Things as of late). The mechanics are new and exciting, nothing ever really seen in a game before. However, there is one small part of the Dead by Daylight equation that completely and utterly destroys the experience. The community of Dead by Daylight is comparable to that of a rotting, seeping, #########-filled trashbag that has been run over by a car 13 times. Easily the worst part of DbD, and honestly quite sad. It hurts to see a game full of such promise be pummeled into the ground by the toxicity of the fanbase. It is very hard to find enjoyment from a game where you get tunneled and camped 20 games in a row, with people that make it their life goal to disrespectfully ######### on as many people as possible. The game has become a nuisance at best, the only reason people still play being the hope of a better game next round, or the hope of irritating your next victim. This isnt really meant as a discussion, but more of a catalyst for my rant. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

You just have to become more toxic than the rest and it won't be as bad anymore.

Grab a flashlight and rev up that ctrl key, it's a long road to become the best.

I think if more players tried to find something nice to say in the endgame chat it might go some way to encouraging others to try and look at the more positive aspects of a trial.

For example, recently I was in a match where each time a survivor was downed the killer was marching them over to the basement. I was in there twice. The third time I knew I was going to be downed and hooked I voluntarily went to the basement and the killer dutifully hooked and killed me.

After the match I asked if he was working on a challenge, and he admitted he was. I remarked it was only one match and that was why I made it easier for him to get the challenge done.

Bear in mind I knew the next time I was getting hooked it would be end of match for me.

I admit at times I want to say something rude or obnoxious to the killer, but instead of cussing them out, I might type gg and exit, or simply exit.

If you aren't being sarcastic, then that is the exact thought process that drives the community to extreme toxicity. Trying to secure your safety in a game by being more toxic than the next only leads to a build up of vile, poisonous people. There is a difference from being a good player and being good at the game (whilst being toxic).

Well how about this idea (if its not already in place) an MVP vote for survivors by survivors at the end of the match. Not a thumbs down as that could easily be abused, but a simple MVP vote to the survivor who in the player's opinion did the most effort to make the match work. Then MVP score could result in some award, like a cosmetic (a rare charm even) The idea behind this would be to encourage better and less toxic play....

Idk, seems easily abuseable by sfw, and isn't much incentive for being less toxic. To be perfectly honest, I have strong doubt that the DbD community can become any less toxic.

There's a reason why you can't kill people on spawn in shooters(you used to be able to), or other such things. They are the same thing as camping and every other game has done something to address this. That is, except BHVR because they see it as a "strategy".

That is the one gripe I have against BHVR. These exploits are not strategies, yet they swear to it.

If everybody were toxic then nobody would be.

It's a game of dominance. Ofcourse many people are toxic because they cannot help but let their emotions boil over. That is weak toxicity.

Strong toxicity is retaliation without emotional investment. It is like a mirror throwing back the image. Weak people are toxic because they cannot help but be toxic. By being toxic in the strong way you show dominance over the weak toxic player and thus tame him. Show him the way, show him what real toxicity is by showing him who he really is. Weak and full of emotions he cannot comprehend and that control him every single step on the way through his life.

    Retaliate. Be like a mirror.
