Solo survivor is awful at the moment

The D/Cs and first hook quits are completely out of control. This is insane. In 10 games this morning at rank 9, there were 5 survivors that d/c'd within the first minute and 2 that soft quit on the first hook of the game. If you're doing the math, that's 70% of the games I played where a teammate quit before a generator was completed. If I were new to the game or had no interest in playing killer, I'd probably be asking for my money back. This is as bad as solo survivor has been since Legion released. I legitimately can't recommend this game to anyone right now. I just don't understand how a multiplayer pvp game doesn't have timeouts for quitting 3 years in. As for hook struggles, I'd change it so you gain "kobe" attempts through a combination of time in match or teammates downs and hooks. Basically make it so someone can't try to kobe 5 times on their first hook 20 seconds into a match, but they can try after a generator is completed or something.

The behavior of some players may reflect the rank reset debacle. Every month on the 13th ranks are reset which means all active players drop a few ranks. Some want this purposefully due to experience in higher ranks (toxicity, selfishness, not much fun), others want to regain their rank as quickly as possible. Like for the first 48 hours you would think there was a challenge "complete all generators in under 2 minutes in a single trial", but I am told after a week the matches settle down again.

I wonder tho if they removed the ability to depip, and just gave neutrals which would not allow players to lose nor gain rank, or the +1 and +2 pips for actually doing something in the match, would really everyone be at rank 1?

Presently you cannot depip at rank 17 and lower, at rank 16 you can lose and gain pips. I wonder if the devs made it so you could not depip until you reached say a higher rank of 12, it might make matches less messy.

I've learned that best thing to do about playing solo's is trying to get as many points as possible. When I play solo I just sit on a gen until the killer comes and then I run him for however long I can. Best thing to do is stop worrying about surviving.

I cringe whenever another survivor can't loop for longer than 10 seconds though.

It can be pure misery sometimes, I agree. However, I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't imagine partying up with other players with the same skill as me against killers. That would make games favored to us, which would bore me. I'd rather take the gamble and see what I get solo. Are some matches #########? Yes. Lots of them. But... I'll take the ups and downs over the constant advantage/win rate if I were to party up.

Yea when I play survivor I don't aim to escape every game either. It's more about the points and the fun you've had getting them. You can still pip when you die.

As killer I don't have to have a 4k every game either. 2 is plenty, 3 is good and 4 is just that cherry on top.

Some people are playing this game with a way too competitive mindset which not only causes them alot of stress and anger, but makes the game rather boring too.

If you want to be competitive then go play a competitive game.

    E-Sports ready btw

The amount of DC's and First Hook Suicides have increased I've noticed, and while it doesn't normally hinder my progress climbing the ladder, it's a pain in the ass when trying to complete Challenges.

I need to help finish 3 generators with the Darks Senses Perk? That shouldn't be too... and 1 team-mate has hook-suicided, 1 is down and not healing, and 1 is being chased near the downed Survivor and not actively trying to move away.

I know the feeling, you start on your first gen then down in the corner you see someone get hit and before it even gets half-way their on the ground. but I actually like solo survivor it gives me the fear factor I want from this game.

Maybe fear for the wrong things though XD

We don't fear the Killer, we fear bad team-mates.
