How long until dedicated servers roll out on Console?

Honestly the last 3 months have had the matches with the worst connection in a long time for me.

My internet is decent but a lot of the matches I'm put in have a lot of lag and I'm honestly so done with it. It's impossible to find anyone with a stable ping below 100.

Little things like going to disarm a trap then lagging into it just infuriate me. Little lagspikes and rubber banding spoil the flow of a match too often.

So...When will dedicated servers be tested on Consoles?

I'm quite happy with pC being the guinea pigs until the bugs are ironed out

    @AshleyWB

The devs initially wanted to release dedicated servers by the end of the summer. Then after experiencing some issues they pushed it back to fall. And I think they are stop having issues, I’m not sure if it’s major.

The devs are located in the northern hemisphere. Fall season ends December 21st. So my guess could be sometimes around there. Otherwise they may push it back again.

I don't hear good things about dedicated servers at the moment let the guys on pc have that wonderful experience I'm absolutely fine with waiting a while

Have you also noticed the game temporarily freezing you and locking you by a pallet for a second? It then drops it but you can usually get hit.

I feel your pain. I play on PS4 and lately the pings have been all over the place. I feel like they've been tinkering with the matchmaking or something, because some days the pings are fine, but the players are nowhere near my rank (I'm talking like rank 4's matched with 16's and 17's multiple times in a row) then the next day I'll be matched with people closer to my rank but the pings are crazy bad. This is unrelated, but I also get an error code booting me from the pregame lobby like 50% of the time. I'm not sure if that's a problem exclusive to console though.

Not that I think dedicated servers will solve these issues, they still have alot of work figuring them out on PC before they get to us.

Considering the are still testing them on pc and having tons of issues.. prolly a while... I would prefer to get the 60fps and higher sensitivity settings first tbh...

I believe Switch has perma dedi servers since its release.

  • You don't want them.

I know my internet. I also know a lot of Console players Don't necessary have the best connection.

I can cope with playing a high ping match as long as the connection is stable and it is functional.

Too often it's a long wait for a lobby and having to put up with a 100+ ping lobby most matches or not get one for a while.

When will they be tested on console? Probably never. I'm pretty sure the devs are using PC as the guinea pigs until they get all the kinks ironed out.

Dedicated servers will probably come to console when they're officially released on PC (currently they're still only being tested) but it's hard to say when exactly that will be.

I hope we never get them until they're much much better for everyone, I've heard nothing but negative things about them on PC so I hope they don't come anytime soon

Honestly from what I see we are better off playing on the crap we are on now unless you want to be slapped across map through a window 😂 I don’t want to use the new call out” I’ve been dedicated serverd”

    Lol

I wish dedicated servers remained a PC and SWITCH thing, only. I don't want to rubberband all over the place and get hit through walls or miss hits at 0 meters of distance due to teleporting survivor hitboxes.

The killer lobbies I stay in usually are around the 170 range in ping. I don't stay in the lobby if it's 200 or more consistently.

That said FPS drops have gotten CONSIDERABLY worse. I have skillchecks being really jumpy, FPS drops when killers use their powers, etc.

Just be happy that you dont have them.

We got them, they will not go away, because they can always say "It helps us with testing/we get more feedback". This is basically an answer which negates every question and reasoning why they should be removed.

Personally, they are not ready, they will not be ready for Fall 2019. They should be disabled for at least half a year and then they might be ready for another test.

But yeah, just enjoy your game without those wonky Servers. And when you get them, drop a "Thank you" for the Test Monkeys on PC.

Ping means nothing on these servers. I have a constant ping of 30-40 ms on dedicated servers and I still get hit 5 meters away from windows, after vaulting pallets or straight through the middle of a solid wall.

Hatchets fly through walls, I can reveal Ghostface through walls without even seeing him, and the list goes on.

My most favourite story happened on haddonfield, where I jumped out of the window on the 2nd floor, landed on the ground, BL activates and then I got hit by the clown who was still standing at the window on the 2nd floor.

I'd rather play in a killer lobby with 200 ms ping, even this was way better than the servers. Sad but true. I never had this much problems on a 200ms lobby.

The good thing is that I know this by now, so I'm not even surprised anymore.
