Unpopular opinion: I like playing solo, now

As the title suggests, I've grown to like playing solo when before I would rather play SWF. It takes the pressure off of waiting even longer for killer lobbies than I do now. I really used to hate playing alone, now I kind of enjoy it. I'm a team player and expect the best for the other survivors. They may not always reciprocate that gesture or may be at a lower skill level than I am, but that's one of the risks that comes with playing solo.

I used to have two other online friends I would play the game with, but they've kind of stopped playing. Plus, I'm wary of accepting new friends to play the game with as they have different personalities and expectations when playing with other people, and depending on those expectations, it could really drive the fun out of the game.

Long story short during one game, at EGC, this Nurse player camped this guy playing as Feng and I tried my hardest to get her to escape, even took a hit for her so her swf friend could eventually get her off the hook. Unfortunately, the Nurse got her again, re-hooked her and she died. Feng player was playing with 2 other friends and one of them invited me to their party on PS4 because he liked how I played. Boy, when I got into that party chat, the Feng player was raging at everyone because he died, even me, the guy that risked his butt to try and save him. I didn't even stay in the party for that long and the guy that invited me apologized for his behavior and said that he always acts like that. Needless to say, I'm just cautious when it comes to playing with others, now.

Do any of you other DBD players enjoy playing solo or is it just me? Lol.

I like playing solo too. I'm rank 1 on PS4 and play probably 95% of my survivor matches solo. I know what I have to do to pip, and when I run into a really good group of survivors, it's a pleasant surprise. I think a multiperson escape just feels more rewarding when playing in solo queue.

I just had a match where the first hook suicided themselves 1 minute in, so it was 3v1 with 5 gens to go. The David and Dwight I had with me were awesome. We all had long chases, finished all gens, and the Dwight brothers ended up escaping, even with a huge handicap. It feels much more accomplishing to do that solo than in a swf.

Same here.. I got into the game with friends and now I mostly play solo with occasionally playing with my 1 or 2 friends that still play. I'm kinda used to it, plus I dont have to stress about saving people if I feel like i need to pressure a gen instead..

Solo is more exhilarating and satisfying when you win. Swf is boring and easy.

I enjoy Solo because of the nature of Solo Survivor's games. It's "Idk what the others are doing but ill try my best to survive or all of us survive!"

I enjoy the guessing game on what my mates are doing.

Not sure why you thought this would be unpopular. The majority of players are solo players. I prefer solo myself. At most playing with one other person.

Solo can be fun at times, unfortunately I always either get teammates who do nothing or teammates who leave me. 🙂

Play solo on PS4 all the time. It’s a much better experience and makes things more intense. The game gets too easy or lackluster when you can communicate every little thing to your teammates. Breaks the the immersion too

I totally understand you. I'm main solo, sometimes I play SWF but I usually get anxious because people expect me to be talking all the time but I'm shy and I'd rather shut up if I don't have anything worth to speak. Despite that I usually try my best to help everybody on the team. Unfortunately not everyone is willing to help you and too many DC's on solo queue...

I'd rather my teammates be trying to get the objective done, or at least getting all the totems, lol.

Same, most of my games are solo, I rarely do SWF, only when friends ask to play.

It's funny tho that almost all the killers just assume you're SWF, especially when you all escape, I keep getting messages from killer complaining about how it was SWF or asking to "tell my friend this or that", only to inform them that they arent my friends, that I was playing solo.

Nope, I don't share the same feelings.

Some of these people you get matched with are basically useless. You might as well be playing with one or two other people.

That said, when you get a good team solo survivor can be very fun.

I'm playing 80% of the time solo and 20% in a swf, three or four man. I'm playing better as solo for some reason.

i have mixed feelings about solo queue; mostly because i get grouped up with people who don't exactly... play. like they're supposed to.

    and a lot of the time, i get thrown under the bus. ;w;

but! there's always those good few games that give me a bit of hope every time, and i've been trying to play more survivor because of them. (though i do miss my demogorgon...)

Some games are good. Some times you get 4 DC's in a row and then 2 people downed in the basement in the first 30s. One has unbreakable, but hides where he went down and goes down again. Thats it for the night

I enjoy playing solo when the stars align and I don't get either a group of ######### survivors or a killer being a dick.

Playing solo is more atmospheric and I like the fact that as a solo, the odds are against me. I like that I don't know if I will get a rescue at the end. If someone is hooked from NoEd, if I do the rescue I'm a hero.

You get none of this with the SWF party game.

I just played the best game, I was solo as per usual, but the teamwork was so amazing. It was endgame and gates already opened, and long story short the killer managed to get 3 hooks (which he all camped, they were 1 hook at a time) but we all rescued while he camped and all escaped. All with no communication. I love those games.

I like to play solo sometimes too, its chilled and you are responsible for you own actions. But sadly 90% of the time you get the biggest baked potatos in the world as your teammates.

I always do so poorly when i SWF cause its mostly about goofing off with my friends, our goal is to help the randos escape and if we die oh well lol so yeah solo is fun and more intense but iv have tons of fun in SWF just running around being foolish, its a good place to test things out xD

I pretty much always play solo. I hate having to feel like I was carried... or carry a teammate just because I'm on coms with them. Plus people on coms are distracting... constantly yapping and distracting me.

Some games are good... some are terrible.. but that's the way it goes.

100% solo...the way the game was intended to be played
