Legion... That Hate omg
Hi Developers
Just wanted to tell you guys if you guys hate Legion so much just delete him and give us the points of purchase back that way we are not going to have an useless character who instead of getting buff gets more neff
I had my hopes up and purchase the Dia de los Muertos Skins both of them lol, it would be nice to get those points since nobody will use Legion if you guys keep making him worse and worse...

No, just because they got nerfed means nothing
You can still play them fine, I think

They just decreased the mend time to 12 from 15. That's 3 seconds less for what increased speed, vaulting and certain addons are better.
I don't know why they decided to lower the DW timer but it certainty isn't a nerf.

The big thing is removing Legion's synergy with on hit perks like Sloppy Butcher. Hitting a survivor in Frenzy no longer counts as a basic attack, meaning Sloppy and STBFL won't activate. DW is already insignificant enough that nobody cares about it, but making Sloppy and STBFL basically worthless will really hurt Legion.

Yeah it's more of a sidegrade, pushing emphasis on hitting all the survivors with the power and then finishing the job with normal hits, which the gameplay I like Legion for.
3 -
I think legion is definitely less effective than he was, but they turned him down from frustrating and unbalanced to balanced and I don't get death threats for playing him in the lobby chat most games anymore.
So I think they did a good job on his changes actually, shame Spirit and Nurse couldn't get the same lol.
2 -
That is a common misconception. Legion was not good even before his changes, he was simply annoying and broken. Now, he just sucks. His power only works if the Survivors heal, which most of the time they don't.
6 -
That's not true he was fairly decent- that being said I didn't see the new changes until just a second ago, and I change my opinion. Some of them are a bit much, but I agree with the mend changes they did because when I play survivor healing from him takes an eternity and then you realize you still have to heal the actual wound, and it's frustrating as all hell.
The rest of the nerfs though, I don't agree with. I liked him the way he has been the past while, and I do think he was balanced and fun in that period of time; but they are making it so I can't even use save the best for last anymore or anything on him and that sucks. That one change basically kills him for me, it gave him actual synergy with a lot of perks. Balance aside that literally takes a chunk of fun out of the killer too, I liked build experimenting and now it's back to the same set ups.

He was extremely weak. The majority of the community agrees on that and when this community agrees on something, it must be a big problem.
8 -
I'm fairly awful at the game and he is still one of my most effective killers even against red ranks, so he can't be that bad. Even if he was too weak though, doesn't change all my thoughts from a moment ago about the new changes.
0 -
His power is just awful, it doesn't help you at all. The new changes are definitely a nerf, if he had any stall potential, it just got nerfed.
4 -
He was extremely weak before, he is crippled now. It is a straight Nerf and terrible change. He was not viable before and Is useless now.
Absolutely no logic behind these changes.
2 -
I think the reduced mend time is fine but removing the synergy for Feral Frenzy with STBFL and Sloppy was unnecessary.
1 -
No you can't. he was barely usable in red ranks by being forced too run 4 perks, but now he is completely useless. There was literally 0 reason for them too nerf Legion when the entire community wanted buffs. They may as well delete him because you'll never see Legion's anymore, and if you do they'll get maybe 1 kill if they tunnel.

I said "I think" for a reason

The reduced mend was just a fluff piece considering the trade off is a little more speed for a shorter mend. It cancelled each other out.
It actually benefits good survivors more because good players will spread out and create split pressure. So, you'll hit someone, run off for the next, you'll likely get to the new survivor just in time to lose your power due to distance, the initial survivor injured has already mended and back on gen, meanwhile you have lost power and are now chasing an uninjured survivor.
Only now, you didn't even at least gain some benefit of sloppy, stbfl, etc..
It's just awful and sad honestly.
What was BHVR actually thinking here. Dumb. Just dumb.

Community: Hey could you work on Legion?
Devs: Sure! *Nerfs them.*
Community: *Facepalms*

I pulled Legion of the shelf last night and first game someone DCs near the beginning. Hadn't even hit that surv yet, but was chasing them once I found them. If players will quit against a weak player on this character, I can only imagine how often it happens against Legion mains.

Susie will finally have a new cosmetic along with Joey <3

I think that new oni perk will be really good on Legion though, so there is that....
0 -
Which one?
0 -
which one?

The third one, Nemesis.
The fact if you stab someone or w/e and they stun you with a palette for 40 seconds they don't get affected by any terror radius stuff, that is terrifying when you think about it.
That means no borrowed time or any terror radius perks, and when they go to mend....and if you so much as exist near them they can't mend; with them having no idea where you are.
1 -
True. I think that perk will be nerfed before it comes off of the PTB. Seems very strong and I can't really see it being left alone, despite the fact that I think it is fine.

The top mend time with Legion's two addons was ridiculous. So we considered, "What happens if we reduce mend time across the board?" Borrowed Time gets a buff, Legion gets a bit of a nerf, and some other things showed up on the list. We decided it was worthwhile to hit it across the board.
As always, we'll monitor the effect that has on the game, and act accordingly in the future.

I don't really understand the line of thought:
- Did BT need a timer buff?
- Did Legion need a nerf?
I think everyone would agree that the answer is no.
If some add-on combined were ridiculous, then why not change the add-ons (duh!)?
Also, what about the basic attack change? Can you please read here?
30 -
This, seriously. The logic is so outside the bounds of normality its not thinking outside the box, its thinking outside of the atmosphere.
9 -
Consciously Buffing Borrowed Time while simultaneously Nerfing Legion = ######### O_O;;
7 -
Reduce the fatigue to 3s this is what legion need now. The increased speed still make them a low tier killer. 4s is overkill when add-ons don't even reduce 1s of the fatigue.
This will make legion mid-tier everyone will stop complaining. However i do appreciate the rest and thanks for bringing his speed back.
PS: make so chase stop the deep wounds effect to avoid exploit like beast of prey.
2 -
You raised more questions then you answered. No one thought legion needed a nerf
6 -
making FF hits not basic attacks is hilariously bad for him.
######### are the devs thinking?
community: can you please buff legion?
devs: what? nerf him? you got it.
5 -
The goal was not to nerf Legion. We decided the overall benefits were worth it, and the Legion effect was small. This game is large and complex; it's hard to change anything without affecting something else. So it's always a cost/benefit analysis.
2 -
Technically BT did need the buff since there are now so many counter options with Oblivious/Undetectable. Nemesis alone will be a hard counter to BT, just hit them, eat a pallet, and they go down in 10 seconds.
5 -
just rework his power already. everyone knows (inlcuding you guys) that he has a poor power what doesnt help him in the chase.
7 -
No one was implying that you thought Legion needed a nerf.
The question (my question, at least) is:
if Legion doesn't need a nerf, BT doesn't need a buff, and two Legion add-on make mending unbearable, why not simply change the add-on?
Also you are exactly right: DbD is a game large and complex, that's why I don't see why a small change (add-on change) is not the first choice instead of a big one (status effect change), especially if you consider that you are affecting one of the most controversial killer right now.
P.S. I hope you understand I'm asking this with very good intentions. I'm sure you have your reasons for making one choice instead of another, it's simply that me, as a player, don't get the reason for it. Also I still hope you can find the time to read the topic I linked in my past reply :P.
8 -
But it does looks like the goal was to make them even worse. Sorry, but that's a truth.
3 -
Nobody heals against Legion anyway
1 -
Eliminating his compatibility with several perks and destroying several builds is a small effect? I know the devs can't just implement the ideas the community wants. But the community has out thousands of hours into the game so their input should mean something.

Hey @Almo, hope all is well! Will there be any upcoming to changes to the nurse base kit nerf based off of observations? I've switched to survivor and have been against two nurses since last season so far as rank 1, main reason to why is because though still powerful she became unfun to play

Really... borrowed time needed a buff and Legion needed a nerf. I don't like throwing insults around on forums but man is it getting hard to not say anything negative, I think the best thing I can say is we live in completely different realities.
1 -
They wont. They have their heads to far up their asssses. It's a ######### joke at this point.
0 -
nah man, be respectful, they are people that do this for a living, and to follow a community is hard work, you can't expect them to reply to everything, and especially not as directly as we wish.
Also sometimes they would like to answer, but they are not able to because they can't just say what they themselves think. If a Dev speaks here, it's basically speaking for BHVR, you must be careful in what you say, they need special green lights.
That's why I'm asking @Almo to read the thread, not necessarily to reply to it :).

Borrowed time is one of the best perk why it should be buff?
I think you should listen feedback from your customers much more.
You said in Youtube that you already have statistics. Legion show Over-Performance data?
And you can see many people complain new Legion today.
0 -
did you guys just not think that making FF not count as basic hits would be extremely detrimental to his synergy with perks? like the only way to make up for his shortcomings is perks... youve kinda hurt the legion really bad.
will FF hits still apply the mangled effect from sloppy butcher?
0 -
Sorry man, but it's really frustrating to have loads of people asking them to buff a character, just to have them nerf it again.
And the sort of responses they give to things that are broken.. it really makes me lose my temper.
Should have learned by now not expect anything else from them.
1 -
i concur. i love dbd, and im thankful to the devs for making such an awesome game... but at the same time, i spend MY free time and MY money on this game. the players give the devs their checks. if it werent for the consumer, they would be out money.
just a shame that they dont wanna listen to us. i PROMISE the players know better than the devs how the killers feel and preform most of the time.
the devs make the killers, but WE play them. for hours and days on end. we know what feels good and rewarding, and we know what is frustrating and no fun.
2 -
This is just silly. BT didn't need a buff, it's already a super strong perk, and Legion didn't need nerfs, he's already a really weak killer. There is literally 0 reason too change Mend and nerf Legion.
0 -
How many people have you seen go down to Deep Wounds? Mending is a small problem. There is no pressure to mend and you have a long time to do it.
He is good at locating Survivors, but he has zero map pressure and nothing to help him in a chase.
0 -
Then why don't you guys give legion something extra to compensate for that "no intention to nerf legion"?
The buffs that you gave him are nowhere near to the 2 nerfs that you gave to their direct power. Decreasing the cooldown from 4 to 3 seconds and/or increasing the feral frenzy speed to 5.4 m/s would be something that would make (almost) everyone feel better about the killer.
2 -
What was it about Borrowed Time that made the dev team think that it needed a buff?
3 -
Gotta agree here, in what sense did one of the top 5 most used perks need a buff, and the worst killer need a nerf? This just pushes two extremes in the wrong directions.
