Oni is watered down billy?
First though absolutely love the look of the killer. His perks are cool. Survivor looks great. The mori is awesome! Am definitely getting tjis chapter.
Can't play the ptb as I'm on console. Just from what ive seen he looks like a Billy but not as good. He has to charge his rush with hitting survivors. And cant one hit down until his power is full. Plus it look pretty easy to dodge.
I know they are looking at changing the chainsaw brothers. Does giving us an arguably weaker billy mean that billy is going to get freddy'd? Whole new base kit?
Just wondering and cant wait to play it myself.

Oni seems a lot like hillbilly in some aspects. His power is like if hillbilly had to gas up his chainsaw before use, though. Not sure if he's stronger or weaker since I can't play him either. His aesthetic is 10/10 so I'll probably get him day 1.

He's a better Billy IMO, due to his power being far more usable at loops and good players being able to flick and one-hit down someone.
Not even factoring in how disgusting Infectious Fright is on him.
EDIT: If you want, watch Zubat playing him, he's highlighting how insanely strong this killer is.

Once Hillbilly gets his fuel tank they could be equals.

His power can be used at loops. Billies usually cannot.

These were my first impressions. Glad to see im kinda wrong. Will definitely do more research so to speak.

I think Oni is a watered up Billy. He'll probably get a bit of a nerf before release

Feels like a cross between Billy and Myers to me. Has to charge his one shot like Myers and gets a lunge attack like Myers, but gets a sprint simular to Billy

i have a question. he has 2 abilities right, so one is the lunge with a 1 hit down. and the other is like a chainsaw sprint. So can you use this second ability to transfer into the first ability? or is it supposed to be used as a way to go from gen to gen. It's a very stiff camera movement so it cant be used in tight corners right?

I watched Pain Reliever a on the Onii a bit and he indicated that you do suffer a turn penalty when using the demon charge. Ending it seems to give you a one hit down if you connect.

For how long will the blood orbs be visible? Will u be still able to break loose while being chased as a survivor to hide somewhere or is this useless, because he just needs to follow the orbs to find you again? I don't play the ptb, just watched some videos and I'm not sure about this so I'm curious.

Hes trading full time access to his mobility and insta downs for extra control and flexibility when he has it..hes less map dependent as Billy, but not as lethal as quickly..that's how I'd describe him

If Oni’s ability was unlimited by default then I think he could be considered stronger than Hillbilly.
Picture Hillbilly being able to shift left and right during his sprint...
I don’t have enough experience with The Oni to really have a valid opinion but I would love to see what it would be like to play a game with at least unlimited dash and collecting blood orbs enables the one hit bam bam.
Some games I’m trying out different perks but I take 10 steps and 3 gens are already done against a red rank squad. I’m crap using The Oni right now so with games like that I’m lucky if I even try out the dash a few time.
At least let me dash.. it doesn’t have to be an instant down but I think it would be a blast swerving through maps.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of him. Though truth be told, i haven't really used him too much. He kind of feels like demo to me. Large loud and clunky. Like the devs said "stealth killers are too annoying. Lets make everyone else the complete and exact opposite out that!" I'm nor bashing him as i haven't played him enough.

He woulda have been better bully if they left him where he was in his current state billy is better
Having to earn your ability, then losing a chunk of it when picking up a survivor is ridiculous.
His charge is AMAZING to bad his club is BOOTY CHEEKS like straight up. If he's charging at you literally just cut left or right you'll avoid him like 90% of the time. And if he's just using the club just run directly at him running left and right you can make him miss a huge chunk of the time doing that as well, and if you're by any walls or objects you can basically turn him into M1 killer even with his ability up
. Prior to the nerfs he would have been a way better Billy he just would need to earn the ability.

That’s why he is a tiny bit disappointing so far. His dash is so much fun but feels way too short. Landing an attack is beyond satisfying but not nearly as dangerous as Hillbilly since he remains a threat to both healthy and injured survivors the entire match. I haven’t completely figured out the learning curve for Oni so my thoughts might change but having unlimited dash for mobility/map pressure and collecting blood orbs for the one hit sounds more appealing to me.
