Will the ban penalty for DC affect accidental DC?
I'm pretty sure the answer will be "yes" but I'm wondering if the time penalty/ban will affect connectivity issues or just people who literally select "leave match".
It's not common for me to disconnect because of connectivity issues, but it's happened before that my internet had a hiccup or the roommate decided to restart/refresh the router without asking and connection got messed up and got disconnected from a game.
I know it will be difficult to tell if someone had a legit issue or if they just unplugged a cable out of rage.

They're able to monitor who DCing intentionally and unintentionally.
Soon they'll be able to monitor suicide by hook as well, if they haven't already. People who crash because of bad internet or something similar won't really be effected by this change... since they'll know if you left the match or your internet just died on you.

I hope so! It happens once in a blue moon but I'd be frustrated either way.
What do you mean by suicide by hook? as in not struggling?

Suicide by hook means they died on their first hook instead of DCing...
It's considered to be the same thing, to die on your first hook intentionally or to DC by leaving the match.

Thanks, yeah I'm just discussing that in a different thread. I don't see why that is bad tho, frustrated players shouldn't be forced to stay. Killer gets the kill and they will lose a pip. But that's just me.
Thanks for all the help!

I'm under the impression that you need to hit some limit before the penalties kick in, just to avoid false positives like a legit game/network crash or an instance where you get stuck in a wall or something and the game can't end. I imagine you would get 2 in a 24 hour period, and on the third is when you start getting punished.

I'm getting punished in the PTB for the unstable game crashing, so yeah. This has an effect on 'accidental dcs'

Ok?
There's a magnitude of reasons why it's pretty much the same but... I think i'll leave it at that.
