Killer Idea: The Carrion
Overview
The Carrion is a master of spies, able to use the entity's crows to find and deter survivors across vast distances. Using her power, Dark Flock, to release crows at survivors that allow the Carrion to track Survivors and even see their auras. They must stop what they're doing and work as a team to overcome her crows before she finds them and adds them to her list.
Her personal Perks, Dead Man's Eyes, Bed of Thorns, and Contagion, help her to find survivors, force them out of safety during chases, and single them out from their team.
Her Perks about tracking and chasing, and ensuring that any Survivors who manage to elude her will not find any help in this sadistic game of cat and mouse.
Lore
She was an ornithologist. She watched, observing the way they behaved. She waited, taking picture in the still moments of their lives. She was a deranged and damaged murderer. She watched, learning their lives and their daily routines. She waited, until they were alone and vulnerable in the cold of night.
Bird watching and photography had provided an easy cover to follow prey and case their homes. Studying them. Picking what flaws to punish them for. And in the dead of night, she would drape herself in the disguise of her precious birds and satiate her twisted desires.
No one knew it was her. Her name never made any headlines and was never written in any case files. She was unknown. But her mark on the world had been noticed. She kept a list of all those she had killed and why she had killed them. She wrote one final name on her list. Her own name. And went out into the night.
The entity took her that night. From the solace of the woods where she had gone so many times before to photograph the many birds that lived there. The entity took her name from the list.
The Carrion's Perks
These are the Perks which start off only appearing in The Carrion's Bloodweb. After reaching level 30, Teachable versions of these perks can be found:
Dead Man's Eyes:
- Get an auditory warning when a Survivor is within range of a dull totem, up to 8/10/12 meters.
- Get an auditory warning when a Survivor is withing range of a Hex totem, up to 12/14/16 meters, and you can see their aura for 2 seconds.
- Dead Man's Eyes has a cool-down of 20/18/16 seconds.
Bed of Thorns:
- After a successful attack the entity makes a patch of spikes at the Survivors feet. Healthy Survivors are put into the Injured State when they run over these spikes.
- The spikes remain for 8/12/16 seconds.
- Bed of Thorns has a cool-down of 28/22/16 seconds.
Contagion:
- Any Survivor with any Status Effects spread those to other Survivors when interacting with them, being interacted with by them, or interacting with the same thing as then.
- When a Survivor interacts directly with another Survivor or are being interacted with directly by another Survivor they spread their Status Effects to the other Survivor after 6/4/2 seconds.
- When a Survivor interacts with the same object as another Survivor, they spread their Status Effects to the other Survivor after 9/6/3 seconds.
Power: Dark Flock
A mockery of her old profession or playing to her skill set, the entity has given to the Carrion a sinister power to command Crows and send them forth in chase of Survivors. Victims of her crows will find it much more difficult to escape her, will give away their position more often and easier, and will be unable to focus on anything as they are harried by the crows.
- Grants the ability to send forth a Crow, that follows a Survivor and circles overhead (similar to Stillness Crows). When a Survivor hides inside a locker, the crows will be perched atop the little roof.
- Survivors can be followed by up to three Crows, each new one following them making them even easier to track.
- Crows remain when a Survivor is on a Hook, providing a visual cue when disturbed if you are within a range of 20 meters. All Crows leave at once when the hooked Survivor is unhooked.
- You start with 3 Crows waiting to be sent forth and can have up to 6, without the use of Add-ons. And you can gather Crows by finding them throughout the trial (after taking a Crow, another one will return to that same spot after 15 seconds, as per normal for Crows to return). You do not disturb Crows when you pass by them or step on them.
- When standing still, Survivors can Scatter Crows (similar to Snapping Out of It), which removes one Crow at a time and gives a visual cue when you are within a range of 20 meters.
- With one Crow following them, all noises a Survivor makes and their hearing distances are increased by 8 meters. When the Crow is disturbed by another Survivor it will caw and give you a visual cue when you are within a range of 20 meters and the Crow will fly off.
- With two Crows following them, all noises a Survivor makes and their hearing distances are increased by 10 meters. When the Crow is disturbed by another Survivor it will caw and give you a visual cue when you are within a range of 28 meters and one Crow will fly off, leaving them with only one Crow.
- With three Crows following them, all noises a Survivor makes and their hearing distances are increased by 12 meters. When the Crow is disturbed by another Survivor it will caw and give you a visual cue when you are within a range of 36 meters and one Crow will fly off, leaving them with two Crows. While being followed by three Crows, Survivors can not be healed without first Scattering all Crows. They also can not heal others or repair Generators. Downed Survivors with three Crows are slowly pecked to death, bleeding out faster, and can not be healed until all three Crows are Scattered by another Survivor.

Update Notes
- Bed of Thorns has a cool-down. Even with the longest spike duration and the shortest cool-down, Bed of Thorns will not be able to make more than one set of spikes at a time.
- Bed of Thorns no longer gives a visual cue when a Survivor is hurt by the spikes.
- The cool-down timer on Dead Man's Eyes has been vastly increased to always take longer than the clear time of a Totem. It has also had it's aura reveal time halved, reducing it to 2 seconds.
- The Bladed Beak and Metal Talons Ultra Rare Add-ons now both reduce the maximum amount of Crows you can keep by 2. By default, without further Add-ons, using one of these Add-ons reduces your maximum count of Crows to 4. Using both at the same time reduces your maximum count of Crows to 2. So if you miss those shots or put down a Survivor, you had better find time to gather some more Crows.
