Bloodlust Killers: How do you counter them?

Prologue: Counterplay

How do I punish a killer who refuses to break the pallet and uses Bloodlust to catch me?

I tried using a safe pallet loop to make them break the pallet, but if it's not the killer shack pallet, they still catch me due to their insane speed.

I don't want to stun them because knowing my luck, I'll likely get hit through the pallet.

So, I'm requesting some advice, what should I do to counterplay a Bloodlusting killer? I feel like I'm missing something when I play as a survivor. 😁🤗

If its a safe pallet don't run around just stay at the pallet and vault. No chase = no bloodlust.

Only do at really safe pallets.

If the killer is bloodlusting and you're not at a god loop were you could force them to break the pallet like killer shack.

My main suggestion would be to find somewhere you could break line of sight if the chase ends so does the blood lust

Yeah but I think posts like this are more of just rhetorical rants

You could try walking! If you walk instead of run at certain loops (for example: When the killer is strafing to try and get you to go one way around a loop, or to get bloodlust easier), it denies the killer of bloodlust. That is until you have to actually run, where the killer gets bloodlust... But it helps for a little while!

And if you can: Try to leave loops fast, that way you don't waste any time around a loop where you cannot deny the killer of bloodlust. Try to move from loop to loop, and try to use pallets only when necessary. Using pallets when the killer is pretty close usually gives you a stun, or you can get hit through the pallet (which is a risk, but it could be worth it).

Try running Lithe / Quick and quite or Dance with me. Vault over a pallet or vault point and run away and hide.

If that doesn't work and you know they're building Bloodlust, throw a pallet early and loop around the downed pallet so he/she has to either break the pallet or waste more time. But I still recommend using Lithe to get away. It works when you vault pallets too. As a killer main, I know this works. I rarely build bloodlust but doing this is the usual counter.

You don't need a counter for bloodlust. If the killer is bloodlusting you then you've already wasted so much of their time that your team has probably won the game already. In the majority of time, bloodlusting as a killer is almost always the wrong move.

I mean, yes, this does work but that's reliant on your teammates to do something for you — you can't always rely on your teammates to do something for you.

I'm talking about a 1 versus 1 scenario where the killer is not attempting to mind game you at all. How would I punish the killer if they decide to Bloodlust me? 😁

This is not a rant, but asking for some help. I literally have no idea how to verse a killer who does this because I'm so use to mind games.

I seen tons of survivors counterplay killers who do this, but I have yet to catch on — I don't know as much survivor information as killer information.

Oh wow, thanks! I forgot walking is not considered as "being in a chase". I haven't tried that yet — I'll give it a go because it seems like this will help me counterplay killers who do this! 🤗😁

As killer, every second you spend chasing someone matters a lot.

I get that part, but I'm talking about, what can I do as the survivor who's being chased, to counterplay a Bloodlusting killer?

Someone told me walking is a pretty viable strategy, so I'm going to try that out on my next game (assuming that killer will Bloodlust me). 😁🤗

I'm glad I could help, somewhat! Good luck in your games dude! :D <3

The game is 4v1, not 1v1. Every killer is supposed to be much stronger than an individual survivor. If the killer is more skilled than you or has quicker thinking, you are going to go down no matter what you do. Unless you use an infinite loop with Balanced Landing (which thank god is finally getting patched.)

The whole point of Bloodlust is to allow killers to end chases in a world of safe pallets and god windows. Its usualy a desperation move for the killer to rely on it alone.

You don't counterplay it. Not everything is meant to have a direct counter.
