How to play against Oni
I consider myself a decent survivor and can loop OK I guess. So I tried to play the ptb the past few days and I have really big problems with the Oni.
I just can't dogde his attacks and once he is in demon mode he often snowballs heavily and slugs 2,3 survs. While the others try to save or pick them up the Oni reloads his power and all starts again.
Once he has a momentum it is really hard for me to play against him. Add ruin, pop, thana or anything for slowdown and the game was pretty much gg every time.
Of course I played with survivors from all ranks so they sometimes did not know what to do, but still.
Can somebody help me to play against Onii Chan?

Honestly, I don't think anyone really has a handle on how to play either as or against him yet. He's been out less than a week, and it takes some time to get used to new characters and mechanics, learn the ins and outs, and formulate strategies for effective play or countering.
All anyone can give you at this point are general tips - try to stay healthy as much as possible, stay out of his way when he's dashing, etc. One thing I've noticed about him is his turning is very bad, so sharp corners can be helpful in evading him during a chase, but I think good players have already figured out how to mitigate that somewhat.
The best advice I can probably give you at this stage is to play him a bit yourself. Learn how his power works, learn what's easy to do and what isn't, and it will help to make you better at surviving against him.

I agree, It's really difficult to avoid getting hit at the end of his dash because he can almost do a 180 turn and smack you. This is most common when you're out in the open and he comes dashing at you. You don't even have that much time to react to the TR.

Cut sharp corners. Or go in a locker if you're the first survivor getting chased.

Thx for the responses. I have problems looping him like billy as he is really fast and as @PolarBear mentioned can turn around fast. Maybe the problem is that i wanted to run him like billy.
Hide in lockers is no option tbh, i want gens to be done so i dont wanna hide ;)
Also if i hide in a chase with him its a free hook for him in turn for losing his power that will soon be back up again because he is hook camping me to get his blood, so this also does not sound like a good idea to me.

lockers are pretty good against him since he has to come out of his power when he grabs you so he can't snowball.

Imagine the counter to him being that you have to get hooked by getting grabbed in a locker. Lol

If you know how to play against billy then you are on a good start.
Remember, The Oni heavily capitalizes on survivors mistakes, so if you not aware on where he is at all times, he will get you.
Long loops are good against him as well with windows, but a good Oni can sometimes play around that so you have to play smarter.
Don't worry about letting him hit you (Of course not saying you should let him hit you), you will end up using way too many pallets early and leave none later when you really need it, just extend the chase like normal, that is the one mistakes I keep seeing people do in matches, because they don't want the oni to hit them and gain more power, when really, they are setting themselves up for bigger trouble later on.
When you hear the cue sound of him going into power, be careful and think about your surrounding, this is where most players fail to do.
You have to be prepared when he is in his power, because he could come where you are at, at anytime.
If you want to be extra cautious, when you hear the oni go into his power, get away from your objective and get somewhere safe, a building, pallet, windows, long loops. If he finds you, never do loops that are short, he will get you very easily that way. Loop him as long as you can, make quick sharp turns as you can and only use the pallet when you know you can stun him, otherwise, he can get rid of that pallet very quickly.
If you are sure you can rely on your reaction time and map awareness, then stay at your objective, once you hear the slightest of a heart beat, remember what you have around you and use it and hide the best you can, if you feel like he is gonna find you then look for a nearest building, long window/loop and do the best you can from there
Again, remember, The Oni heavily capitalizes on survivors mistakes, so if you are not aware of where he is or could be, he will get you, if you stay out in the open, he will get you.
If you don't decide to heal, he will get all of you.

u can try to loop him,unless its a really good tile that works against his power looping will only kill you.Only thing at the moment i can think of is go into a locker so he has to work for his power again.Pallets are no weakness to him in his demon mode cause he can insta break em.So yeah only the locker strat probably,and using vaults as much as possible

I think he is similar to plague when she drinks.
so you just have to wait it out, and it is supposedly made difficult to loop when hes in rage mode.
playing safe would be best, if you get caught play it like billy, hes stronger than billy but on a timer.
dont go for saves when he is in rage mode
