Cross play: Awesome feature or trash?
Many people are fantasizing about cross play. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could play with friends/people from other platforms? But think about it. Could cross play ruin our game? Or is it just a nice new feature?
It would be interesting to add cross play to this game. Killer stats are different on all consoles. On PS4, almost no one plays nurse, since it is really hard to play as her. It would be really nice to play against more nurse players.
On the other hand, console and PC is totally different. Generally speaking, it is easier to play on PC than on console. An example is that killer are able to turn quickly with a mouse. Console players, instead, have to use a joystick.
Personally, I would like to have cross play. What's more interesting is knowing what your view on cross play is. Why do/don't you want cross play?

Could be an awesome feature, if implemented well. It would solve a lot of the current problems with matchmaking by expanding the overall playerbase significantly.
As you pointed out, the main barrier between PC and console is the hardware limitations console players have to deal with. If keyboard and mouse support were added to the console versions of the game, I think crossplay could be a great addition.

Pretty sure kb/m support is just a matter of time at this point. So many members of the forums are console users...would be nice to see just how good theyd do against me, lol.

Rocket League and Paladins both Cross Play.
On Rocket League I use KB/M and fair quite well, but people say controller is way easier and will make you better. I could never get used to it, even with over 1k hours.
Paladins also has Cross Play, while I think PC players have an advantage, you can't just count out console players. Many of them are quite good, despite the advantage we may believe we have.
My 2 quick examples, not much detail, sorry.
But I have a friend who is playing the new Modern Warfare on PS4, he says it has cross play. From his point of view, while PC may be great and all, he dumped on plenty of PC players just recently. It changes game to game of course, who knows? He also plays DBD on PS4, I actually asked him about it, and he said that it would probably be fine.
We can't think so lopsidedly. You gotta let things play out first. Also that's why there is an enable or disable cross play option is most games

Feel like games with ranks will also generally help separate you from players who are just gonna demolish you anyway.

I would like to see a month long live build with cross play enabled, and gather information on performance. Or maybe starting from the 13th to the next 13th. Could get a broad view.
Simply put, I played a lot of COD zombies since WaW release. It was all on console, so about 10 yrs worth of console. I got used to console since it was all I had for a while. I built my own PC about 4 yrs ago, got used to it. Played some more on console just a couple month's ago, sure I thought it was completely unbearable, how can anyone play this? But after a few days, I got used to it again like I had never left.
I tried DBD on my friend's console. I don't get how he can play survivor or killer with the controller. But he did about as good as I saw any other PC player do. It's just what they get used to. So with that in mind, I don't personally think Cross Play is a stretch.
We won't know anything otherwise. We could assume all we want, but that's not fair.

Cross-play might also encourage more people to buy the game on different platforms, since Cross-progression might be an option.

I think it would be interesting to have cross-play, however, the issue is, if PC survivors manage to go up against a PS4 killer. It will happen, I know it will. It will put that PS4 player at a huge disadvantage. Because, like you said, PC is easier to navigate than console.

If you think about it, the idea of mouse and keyboard wouldn't actually impact the game at all. Survivors on console wouldn't really be at a disadvantage because even on PC a large majority of players play with a gamepad. And if they didn't, the console would be used to it anyway. Survivor doesn't gain much from a mouse and keyboard. Which then also leads to playing against mouse and keyboard with a controller. They're already at a disadvantage using a controller as killer, it doesn't matter that the survivors have M&K. I think overall, it would only bring benefits.

Or they could just have crossplay with PS4 and Xbox

If people are really are really worried about cross play or its just too unbalanced they could either make it an option (on/off in settings) or they can make it so consoles cross play with each other unless they have a person from pc in their party

It would be good for the community at large. Though I wonder if there's a large disparity between the skill of pc and console players. It would be interesting to finally go against pc survivors and nurses.

Why would a console survivor struggle against a PC huntress? Using a controller is no more difficult than KB+mouse AGAINST a huntress. Using a controller AS a huntress would be a nightmare though.
