Regarding "Disconnection Penalties": Does that mean there will be no game bans anymore?

I wonder since they've implemented temporary matchmaking bans now, is it just going to be the time that would escalate into a higher duration of time being matchmaking banned every time you do it, or can it still escalate into a permanent game ban?

The bans gradually increase each time you DC, so by knowing this you can still be banned for quite awhile if you DC enough...

This new DC penalty system was added to counter the constant DCing that people would do... they would DC in "moderation" to avoid the game bans and than not DC for a period of time before doing it again with no downside.

Now, if you DC you'll be given a timer in-game to wait and if you continue to do so you'll be given a very long matchmaking ban because of this, I'm sure the old system still applies when it comes to too many DCs. But I do know for sure the matchmaking bans get longer and longer, the more you DC.

@FireHazard That's dumb. I thought it would be the in-game timer only that now applies, just like it does for League or CS:GO, but making it that it can still escalate into a permanent game ban, that is stupid. Especially then if they make it that you can get banned for killing yourself on the hook, what if you don't wanna play the game because you've had 5 russian tryhard killers in a row and you just don't wanna play against those? They shouldn't force people to stay. I could go ahead and just "deal with it" if I was living in the NA region, playing on US servers, but living in EU and playing on EU servers makes it harder to mentally withstand it. We got plenty of toxic russians and romanians on both sides, but since killers have been buffed a while ago, I get to face a lot of toxic tryhard killers who are most likely to be from Russia. I'm not trying to be racist, this is just the conclusion I've made because everyone else in Europe, from any other country, isn't as toxic or tries as hard as they do. And yes, I am mostly a solo queue player, or I duo with my gf, but that's it.

Again, it's just speculation on if they increase to a permanent ban. They definitely increase each time you DC to actual DC bans, but it's unknown if you'll get a permanent one.

So i can get banned for the server taking a dump in the middle of a game? Had it happen twice trying to play as doctor and again after playing survivor. If they had expensive servers i could see it. But when the servers are the cheapest on the market and they have a terrible netcode, that 20k average playerbase is going to go tank and fast.

No, if you DC pre-maturely in-game than you will get a short matchmaking "ban."

If you afk in-game than that's a different story, and even if you DC once in your entire career in-game than you'll only get a few minute cool-down, the longer bans apply to people that DC in excess.

I'm not tell you to go DC at your leisure, you'll be punished for it, but you won't get a severe cooldown/"ban" if you DC once or twice... if you DC like 20 times in a row than you'll be punished for it very severely.

I'm just saying i got 3 DCs in the span of an hour because of the game taking a dump. Twice as killer, once as survivor. That's excessive IMO for the time frame given. Sometimes the game locks up and a few seconds later you DC. This is both roles. While its not every game, it would be enough to get a MM Ban for "DCing", because Misbehavior has no idea on their end if the server hiccuped kicked you or if you hit alt+f4. They need to get LEAGUES better servers before they start any sort of ban system over DCing because their servers aren't even worth being called Great Value.
