Lets Discuss.
I'm linking this video.... it's very entertaining because.... well.... Umbra (some will know what I'm talking about)
But in all seriousness...... this is something that has been tossed around the community for sometime, now before this goes too far let me be clear --------> New game modes have already been confirmed to not be coming in the near future, there was an AMA on reddit and the devs have stated that they're focused on the health of the game and rightfully so, this thread isn't about me asking "when is 2v8 coming or is it ever going to come?" this thread is for the community to have a fun discussion about what it could possibly take to even come close to making a 2v8 balanced<playable.......... in this video you see a showcase of the worries------> issues........ just overall struggles that the devs would have with balancing a 2v8... and balance isn't really the word for it, this mode would be 2 players just chillin while wrecking people together, just like with SWF right now.
it doesn't show 8 total survivors but we can get an idea anyways....... well what would it take?.... Lets discuss!

It would be nice for big maps like red forest. 9 gens, 7 need to be done, 2 killers and more loops. I'd love to play Twin Trappers with a buddy, but having duplicate killers might be OP as hell (just imagine 2 nurses, spirits, Freddys, etc)

I kinda hope they'll find a better idea than 8v2.
One reason i prefer Killer is to not have to depend on my fellow's skills.
A no-equipment mode is more of my taste.

no items/perks/addons is a survivor slaughterfest

Which is great cause then they can patch up the base characters and balance Perks and whatnot properly from the new base.

see I would like a vs mode... 2 teams of survivors pinned against each other and 2 killers trying to out perform each other in attempt to win the entities favor. this would be kinda dope.

Yeah mothers dwelling, the family residence would be kind of a good size for this type of game play... but even then maybe the maps would have to be bigger in order for it to work.

I actually wouldn't mind that but damn making a 2v8 mode would probably take like a year or 2 to make

As long as there's no gens involved I'll be happy with whatever new game mode

A maze like map (or 3) with no gens or exit gates, maybe a hatch. New items help you with decoys, placing traps, even selling out the other survivors. BP are awarded by how long you last and stuff you do. Killer is awarded for killing.

That sounds like it could be implemented without it being a new mode.
You check a checkbox in your options menu and it'll make your lobby either wait for the other lobby to also be ready to start, or you're the 2nd lobby and start immediately like usual.
Then you start playing.
- If Killer #1 wins / If Survivors #1 lose in Trial #1 before T#2 ends, K#1 gets 50% more BP.
- If K#1 loses / If S#1 win in T#1 before T#2 ends, S#1 all get 50% more BP.
- If K#2 wins / If S#2 lose in T#2 before T#1 ends, K#2 gets 50% more BP.
- If K#2 loses / If S#2 win in T#2 before T#1 ends, S#2 all get 50% more BP.
Winning/Losing would depend on the average the devs want: 2 Survivors dead, 2 escaped.
Meaning if that's the result, both the Killer & Survivors who finished the trial first get 25% more BP, and then like i said before, more dead means the Killer 50% and more escapes is Survivors 50%.
Just of the top of my head. 😅

Kinda reminds me of Batman Arkham Origins multiplayer actually. 2 sides are competing against each other (Joker's goons and Bane's goons), and 1 other team is trying to stop both of them (Batman and Robin). I think the only way to balance the Killer team in this case is there couldn't be 2 of the same killer. I'd be down for something like that.

@LegionOfDumb right I think the idea of it is quite interesting.

This sounds awesome lol..

I think with 3 gens being left at the end (like normal) and 2 killers, that could be problematic.
10 gens, complete 7?

It's not really problematic... survivors who don't think/look around at the gen placements end up giving a 3 gen strat that could have been avoided... now 2 killers it would be more difficult ofcourse but they have to commit to a chase and with 8 survivors it would be more difficult to defend..
