ok... #########?
few moments ago had a game where killer (doctor) managed to make 3 gen chain
at this time we had one survivor dead
we were trying to repair 1 of the gens, but ultimatly failed.... and then, when onother survivor was sacrificed, i realised that all that time i had a key in my hands... and hatch was near one of those 3 gens that i was constantly trying to repair...
and yes - me and my random fella escaped

And that's why keys need a major nerf. If you three genned yourself, you shouldn't get an escape without some effort.

no - i mean that we repaired 4 gens, but last 3 gens was VERY close to eachother

Yes. YOU three geened yourself. So you shouldn't be able to just escape.

then this is actualy perfect game
doc got what he deserves

He three genned, he deserved a reward. He got a two man escape without a counter. Cool.

I'm lost as to the point here?

Against doctor you should always try to get the gens that are closer together (this is obviously hard because he can make his tr gigantic with the two addons and distressing) but the doc did the right thing and actually had a win over you guys and the key just gave you a free escape.

this momerts often gets to the point where game can be considered as game hostage. I had alot of games where doctor didn't even try to chase survivors or chase just a litle bit. And thouse game were go on and go on,.. once i had a 1 hour game like that... so no... got what he deserved... even tho game were goin for 20 minutes

Thats not all doctors though and if a doc did that then theres punishments in place for that report him for holding the game hostage (at least i think that would be considered doing it if hes just walking around the last 3 gens not even trying to kill survivors hes just chasing them away then coming back).

You said yourself though that the Doc WAS chasing ppl, and actually just sacrificed his 2nd survivor. Thats not really a hostage situation.

He's not supposed to chase you ya know? He maybe not followed the survivor rulebook damn.

If he was deliberately not chasing you guys and only going around and shocking the three gens that are closes to you guys for a certain period of time. Justice to you two, I just consider that holding the game hostage.

and thats the reason keys are bs.All of you should have died there but instead survived cause of an item

3 gen can happen from the literal start of the game. The killer just needs to ignore all chases and slowly clear the area around the gens they are protecting and it is no different to having 5 gens left or just the 3 that they are protecting.

Without effort yet they had to do gens find the hatch which can be hidden and coordinate if they weren't in a swf to get their other buddy to hatch. Mori's have basically the same effect but understandably without having to search the map for a hatch. Don't know why but for some odd reason it seems like everyone just wants every UR or purple item to not be able to be useful. I don't know why it should come to a surprise to you that if someone has a item that is semi-powerful like a key you could be at a disadvantage. The one thing I would agree on though is that chests should not give out keys but other than that they are perfectly fine just like Mori's are perfectly fine.

Keys get players out of the game earlier
Moris kill the survivors earlier
As long as ones in the game the other should be as well

Where did the key come from?

This is nohere near being considered "Holding the game hostage"
Don't be ridiculous

So the message of the story was keys save you from dying when you were beat, well color me surprised.

Yeah, you did 3gen yourselves. That means 4 gens were completed and the last 3 were close to eachother. Under these circumstances the killer has a huge advantage. The way to prevent this situation is to save the gens on the edges of the map until last and do the middle ones first.
However, good use of the key. Lucky you had it 😁

I will tell you why that's not holding the game hostage. The reason they don't keep chasing you is because if they did, a gen would definitely get done. What that is called is a "stalemate:" When both sides are trying to win, but neither one can make progress because they will lose if they try to do the objective. So they both keep going back and forth in a tug of war, waiting until they see the other side to make a mistake so that they can win. Sometimes this happens and neither side makes any mistakes, so neither one can win.
Again, this is not holding the game hostage. If you wanted to, you could just run to a gen and start working on it and just let the killer get you, then boom, you would be out of the match and the killer would win. He is TRYING to kill you and protect the gens at the same time, and if you led him on a chase too close to the gens, he would 100% chase you and down you.
Personally, these are my favorite kinds of matches if they alst around 15-25 minutes. They are soooo intense. It's the only time Dead by Daylight is ever challenging.

Keys should have an animation of leaning over and unlocking the hatch, then swinging it open like a chest. About 5 or 6 seconds would do.

They happen way too often, that's the problem.

A hatch escape of two or more people. Happened two times to me yesterday, once as survivor, once as killer. It's just one of the cheapest ways to escape. Same with Moris. I played against an iri head huntress with an ebony mori. She got me, hang me in the basement and camped it. I got saved without BT, slugged and instamoried. Much counterplay. gg.
