There's a specific difference in the wording of other such perks that work the way you're thinking (adrenaline/noed): "When all generators are repaired" meaning survivors have finished 5 generators. Or when exit gates are powered, which happens when all generators are repaired OR the hatch is closed. The former is rancor & the other two, while the latter is only the other two.

It only works when all five generators are done. It does not work (and never has) when you close the Hatch to start the EGC. NOED works for either one because of its wording.

If Yes, it's a bug, if no then it's working as intended and as they explained and you can drop the attitude from people answering your question.

Let's make it simple.
Go to Youtube and find me just one video showing Rancor activating under the following conditions:
1) Less than five gens are finished
2) The Killer closes the Hatch.

Because you wouldn't say that, and instead just starting calling them names, and lashing out at them. Also the way you kept talking was heavily implying that you thought it was the endgame that triggered it and not the gens.

I always run bloodwarden noed rancor and surveillance when I run prayer beads and mother daughter ring it's how I usually get a 4k with spirit

Bloodwarden dosnt work without a gate open or without hooking a survivor after a gates been open its useless if only 1 survivor remains and the gates aren't powered

You do you, play however you want that guy is being rude- but you have to understand your behavior attracted that kind of behavior. If you go around lashing out like that, other people are going to start snapping back.
I know you are going to want to say something like "I did nothing wrong they just kept calling me ___ because they didn't understand ____" but that isn't true at all, it's because you escalated, got defensive and starting acting out.

Rancor will only work when all 5 gens are completed. If you close hatch before all 5 gens are done, it will not trigger.
It can only be used on the Obsession.

We've already covered the first part of that, all 5 gens were done and THEN the hatch was closed.
He says it was active, so totem was probably up, though that does bring up the question if maybe it was not the obsession he tried to Mori.

I'm not convinced that all five gens were done based on OP multiple times asserting that closing the Hatch starts the Endgame, which leads me to believe that OP is confusing the gens being blocked off with being finished.

Why would we realize all gens were done when twice you said that you closed the Hatch to start the EGC and then said that the generators being blocked off means Rancor should be in effect? Plus, you never mentioned Blood Warden until you listed your build.
I'm sorry, but at this point, my theory is that you didn't realize you made a mistake and are trying to cover it up to not look bad.

It's a little deceiving, but essentially It's not an EGC perk, it will only activate if all 5 gens are completed, so if you close hatch and there's still gens up, it won't activate.

Closing the hatch blocks all remaining generators, regardless if they are complete are not. Blocking a generator doesn't automatically complete that generator, it just prevents survivors from working on them for the duration they are blocked for. 😁🤗
