I have some questions that I hope someone can answer?

First question. Is this game dying?

2nd question why is this game/fourms so toxic? Cause I never seen a game this toxic as this one:(

3rd question this game has became a nerf that and a buff that type of game:( I'm i right?

4th question do the devs really listen?

Because I am sooo close to just leaving this game for good:( cause I took a long break then when I wanted to play killer it takes soo long to find a game:( And when I do find a match it ends to quick then after game ends I get salty survivors :(

I really love this game but it's no fun dealing with these issues :(

    1) No, I don't think so

    2) Lot of people = lot of different opinions and some few % of people likes to mad/troll other people. Also, if you never played games like Legue or Rainbow Siege... I think there are way more toxic people in general.

    3) Isn't that case with any multiplayer focus game where are different abilities, powers, perks, etc.? But to answer you question, yes, it kinda is.

    4) Yes, sometimes. For example the new Tome III challenges will be changed, than god! (but still delayed, ... again, pff)

    1. No.

    2. LoL and R6 are way more toxic games.

    3. No.

    4. I think they listen, but they don't know what to do sometimes.

    1. The game itself is not dying but that doesn't help the queue times for killer in grey ranks (which I assume you are after not playing for a long time).
    2. The toxic people tend to be more vocal and memorable than the non-toxic people. I don't know what games you have played but from my experience any PvP activities tend to attract a certain level of toxicity.
    3. Nerf and buff requests are a big part of the forum threads at least. Not sure how a game should look like without nerfing and buffing certain parts of it. Just adding new content? I think the issue with DbD is that nerfing/buffing the right thing in the right way is tricky to say the least.
    4. Really listen? No. Sorta listen? Yes.

I know it can be frustrating trying to get out of grey ranks on killer but it's doable with some patience. My advice would be to persevere, make your way to yellow ranks and then decide whether you want to stay. In the end we play to have fun.

    1. No, the game is doing well. Different regions have different preferences, so in NA there's like a u-min killer queue, but survivor is 10 seconds, whereas in EU it's reversed.

    2. This game is less toxic than most team shooters, and definitely nicer than the MOBA scene. It's just the loud people that make it look bad.

    3. Every game has buffs and nerds, if they don't then the game gets stale and dies.

    4. Yes, they do. They don't communicate that fact well, but they do listen.

    7-min killer queue*

Lol apparently I didn't hold down "u" long enough for it to swap over to a 7

    1) Not according to the raw data. In terms of player numbers, it's actually growing.

    2) Because of the way the game is set up with two opposing roles, where anything that improves the circumstances of one generally worsens the circumstances of the other. It creates a lot of enmity between the two, and the fact that so many people only play one role or the other makes it much worse. In short, the toxicity comes from the powerful "us versus them" mentality that exists between killer and survivor mains.

    3) The patch notes for any game with ongoing developer support can essentially be reduced to "nerf that, buff that". It's something that needs to happen in order to improve balance and overall game health. But they also fix dozens of bugs and introduce new content with every major patch, so I definitely wouldn't say that's all there is to it.

    4) Yes, the devs always listen to community feedback. The Community Managers are active on the forums, and take all the feedback and constructive criticism we deliver back to the rest of the team on a daily basis.

Sometimes it doesn't feel like they listen, for two main reasons. The first is that they have lapsed recently in their frequency of communication - the livestreams are much less frequent than they used to be, as are general news and updates, which makes the community feel more disconnected from the developers.

Secondly, the developers have access to a lot more information than most community members do, not only game data but also their own long-term plans for the game, so they can see the bigger picture in a way that we can't. This means that while they do listen to everything we say, they will sometimes choose not to make changes to the game based on our feedback, usually for reasons related to information we don't have. However, this has made many community members feel frustrated and ignored by the developers, especially since we aren't receiving a lot of information about why they're making most of the decisions that they are.

    1. yes, slowly and you cam blame 4 for the reason.
    2. The game is so toxic because again 4. BHVR only really listens to the killers, and once and a while to the survivors. Rules are slanted in the killers favor.
    3. All games go through an amount of balancing, It's just a matter of what you consider balanced. The most recent changes were due to either data showing x killer getting getting 3/4k ratios that are far outside the expected (Hello nurse and spirit), or because the killer complains, (closing loops, BL, insta heals, etc). 4. If they do, they sure don't show it, of they are, they don't actually listen, more interpret what they think you want, than actually listen.

Yellow are just as bad, honestly. It's up to you if you want to keep trying or not, but I would say that green ranks are probably the sweet spot if you want to try playing there for a bit before you decide to quit altogether.

    1) The game is not dying atm. But it's worrying that the playerbase is not significantly growing despite all the great licenses that have been added and that the game is getting buggier with each update. We will see what the future holds.

    2) That's a topic you could write a novel about. Part of it is that there are a lot of mechanics in the game that make toxic behaviour possible. There is a reason why some people call DbD a "bully simulator".

    3) That's balancing. It's normal that this is a permanent process with a game like DbD.

    4) Do they listen? Yes. Do they act? Sometimes, depends on the issue. Keep in mind that the community managers who read everything on the forums, twitter etc. are not the ones who program the game.

    1. The game doesn't feel like it's dying.

    2. It's because people take the game too seriously

    3. It's more balance this and balance that

    4. Devs do listen. Old DS wasn't fun for killers, same with MoM and instaheals. Nurse and Spirit felt too powerful for survivors. Legion wasn't a fun killer to go against either
