Is the Oni going to be at the same level as Plague?
I've seen a lot of people recently complain about how the Oni has no counterplay. Although I agree with that, is that necessarily a bad thing? From my understanding, the Oni has similar counterplay and even playstyle as the Plague. Keep people injured, force them to heal or they get punished. Plague really doesn't have counterplay either, but for the longest time I haven't seen complaints. Is it just because the Oni is new?

No telling until the devs release the patch notes. Hopefully they don't gut him. Oni seems so fun to play .

I'm curious why you think the Plague has no counterplay. She absolutely does.
12 -
Same

What do you do against a plague? Cleanse and let her ######### your team in the ass with what is basically omega hatchets? or do you become a one hit down the rest of the game?
1 -
Meanwhile she has no power XDDD..even her vomit is beat by certain tiles and stealth
2 -
how does she not have power?
1 -
Yeah. Ok. Sure.
Whatever you say.
1 -
Vomit does absolutely nothing if everyone refuses to heal (unless you use the red add-on that shows auras of vomiting Survivors).
2 -
Tell me..what can you do besides run and smack when people are sick..? Absolutely...nothing shes got the same gap in her power as legion..difference being her survivors are less likely to heal but..she still has to finish as a base killer unless cleansing is done which is why shes so sparcely played

The Plague has alot of counter play, if u heal up then u can hear when she takes her power, or u can not and gen rush like normal. Oni is just a gimp billy nothing more.

Perma tier 3 myers with 4x thanta stack every game for free = bad killer. I think nobody plays her because her gameplay is so boring, not because she isn't super strong.
0 -
High wall tiles are the ones you're thinking of, unless she manages to arc her vomit and get lucky, it's like looping a Huntress (especially if the Plague continually charges and uncharges her purge like most do).
She's also super weak to pallet camping, since a stun removes her power completely.
Honestly, IMO Plague is actually strongest when people don't cleanse.
Instead of a Huntress on a timer she's an anti-stealth instadown Killer.
Of course if you cleanse and nobody else does, you're killing your team, so I personally don't cleanse.

Other than slowing down how fast he gets his power by a bit he's fine.

The oni is balanced in my opinion, however you can say with certainty once he gets his power he becomes pratically omnipotent
0 -
You stay broken and loop her. Even if you don't do a no0b3 5-gen run, she has literally no map pressure so buying time is the biggest thing to do. She's also so loopable it's laughable.
0 -
May be a bit of both..because shes certainly not high tier worthy since she gets carried by thana..

All depends on the survivors you face

I would put her at one of the strongest killers in the game, only below the current god tier of killers like spirit / billy / huntress / etc. I only put them higher because they can down people even faster than plague.
It takes 0 skill to hit her power, all you have to do is look at people and you basically injure them 1 health state for free. From there, you can run a ton of slowdown perks if you feel confident in chases or a bunch of chase perks to become near-unavoidable. I always do thanta because it's just so free on her.
But perks like play with your food, spirit fury, pop goes, etc are pretty nuts when everyone is a perma 1 shot. Iron will and adrenaline, two of the strongest survivor perks, are hard-countered for free. She's literally perma tier 3 myers every game, but way better.

I don't like how people can just hop in lockers and he's forced to lose his power.
1 -
Hardly as shes still just an m1 killer with no additional lunge or vault speeds..and I cant in good faith put a killer where survivors control her power above Myers at best and that's only because Myers slow start is his death and her vomit is very strong in the open..at jungle gyms and high walls however..not so much
0 -
I'm tired of people comparing plague to T3 Myers. Myers has a faster vault speed and better lunge in Tier 3. Plague has nothing to help her end a chase faster if Survivors don't cleanse.
0 -
Nothing to help her end a chase faster....except the whole part about her 1 shotting them and being almost unjukeable because she can always hear you? You can't even locker juke because the lockers turn green.
If you are having that much trouble getting a single M1 off on survivors, I recommend running more chase perks. I always run bamboozle on my M1 killers and have no issues with looping at all, even at red ranks.
If you are a good killer, you can stack a ton of slowdown perks on her instead and just run around 1 shotting people and regressing gens with pop for days. How people can think that is weak is beyond me.
0 -
Juking isn't an optimal strategy anyway. Sure, she's harder to juke, but still easy to loop.
0 -
I would argue it is, because not being in chase is always better than being in chase. Hiding at a generator is wasting just as much time as looping the killer, and is saving pallets. You are saying the optimal strategy is to loop until you go down, I am saying it's to not go down in the first place.
And M1 killers being easy to loop doesn't change how plague is the strongest M1 killer by a large margin.

Freddy is an M1 killer.
0 -
Unless he gets pretty significant changes from PTB then he'll be better than Plague.
0 -
His M2 slows people so I disagree. It makes many loops completely unsafe and is super mindless when combined with bloodlust. It's one of the stronger chase powers in the game, in my opinion. Then stack on everything else he has.
0 -
Plague has no counterplay because all she has to do is lightly cough on you to basically get the full effect of her power.
Oni has counterplay in the form of "don't get hit lol." As much of a joke as that sounds if you can play stealthy around him he's a default Killer with little going for him. And unlike Plague he can't just look at you to suddenly give you the lurgy.
The problem with Oni on PTB is that he gets his power waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast. It's obtained way too fast for how good it is. Some nerfs to the charge rate as well as some changes to the blood orbs would make him perfectly fine.

Plague has very simple mind games which is one reason I don't enjoy playing her.
- If she has normal vomit then the Survivor knows she wants to Break them and will either never drop the pallet until they are Broken or use it early. From here Plague has to either Break them fast enough to avoid this scenario or play the pallet which 9/10 times is a bad move since you're super tall and every move is obvious.
- If she has Corrupt Purge then the Survivor knows to hide inside the loop, make tight corners, always drop the pallet early to waste her time, Survivors will then switch to jungle gyms to avoid Plague since those are now her weakness instead of an asset since they are the only tiles that hide her height but now they work against her since she will focus on vomit hits which is harder in these spaces.
Overall her mind games are brain dead simple akin to Billy, Leather, and Demo, no real strategy except they break the pallet or no. Plague has a counter, it's called git gud.

Plague gives Survivors Broken with her M2, does that mean she's not an M1 killer?
Is Clown not an M1 killer either? His power slows survivors down.

It also doesn't matter what state you are in.
If you are healthy you have a greater advantage against the Plague. If that means you had to cleanse, as long as you used a fountain far out of the way that's actually good for you. On top of that, if you over-cleanse and force her to take Corrupt by using all the fountains, you basically reset her entire pressure game. If you do this and hide for 60 seconds it's like her starting a new game basically
EW3 Myers, specifically infinite EW3, has far less counter play. It doesn't matter if you are injured or healthy, both states are effectively the same. You can't reset his one shots. And as you say he has better lunge range and vault speed. This makes infinite EW3 way way more powerful than anything Plague, except being fully sick when she has Corrupt.

Next you will be asking me if wraith is an M1 killer or not. I'm saying she's an M1 killer because she vomits on survivors once and then doesn't use her power for the rest of the entire match.
Snares have no cooldown, no reload, no cast time, and don't slow him while he is casting them and it effectively means he can be spamming snares 24/7 in chase where-as clown is only going to get a few slows in before a reload that might mean the survivor gets to the next loop.

Plagues power is that everyone is injured the whole game.
On it's own that doesn't mean much, but when combined with perks is massive.
Compare that to Legion who can simply MAKE you injured efficiently. Even if his power is about as good at that as Plagues, he's still worse simply because his power doesn't have the massive perk synergy that the Plague's does simply because it's not quite a free health state and they can Heal if it's needed in order to beat your build for whatever reason.
Against Plague that's practically not an option, so you can count on them being injured.
That makes a lot of perks suddenly way WAY better than normal. Thanataphobia and Blood Echos are the obvious ones, but also perks like Monitor, Mindbreaker and Surge are stronger on the Plague as a result of this.
Infectious Fright is more effective if you can one shot everyone for a quick slug induced victory. PWYF is better when it takes only 1 token per down and no one can hide from you properly. Dying light is better since the Obsession buff is nonexistant and you can snowball hard with your instant downs.
Undetectable perks like Tinkerer are also better on her since stealth + instant downs are a great synergy. And thus Nemesis is a good perk on her as well.
All these synergies is where her strength comes from, and not from her power directly.

Oni will be better because once he gets his power up, survivor bodies are going to start hitting the floor.
0 -
Assuming no drastic changes, Oni will definitely be better than Plague.
0 -
Hopefully Oni has enough demonic power to survive the devs
0 -
If he doesn't get nerfed too hard, Oni will be better than Plague.
But Plague is better than Myers hands down. Plague has a better early game, she counters all stealth and healing perks and items ( and with Iron Will, Adrenaline and Medkits being so popular this is kinda big ) and she also has a crazy snow ball with a correctly used Apple and Infectious Fright. Plus, she can force survivors cleanse with a stall or agresive build, while Myers can just ... get rekt by Spine Chill and survivors who finish 3-4 gens before he gets to EW3.

Plague main here...
She absolutely has the ability to be counter played. But most people don't know that because Plague is one of, if not the most unpopular killers in the game.
