OK so the Doctor has something called Static Blast now? but it's not working.

I dont know whats up but it looks like the Doctor got changes to his addons and power that dont work right now.

    Are you sure? As far as I know they aren't changing the doctor until the mid chapter patch.

    Go read his power in game and look at the scraped tape and Calm addons

    It's a mistake that made it in; it's most certainly a change from the dev build that is likely subject to change up until he gets his changes.


    That is, only the description has changed - the doctor change itself has not snuck itself in.

    It may have been some things that accidentally slipped into the update they pushed that were meant for a future update, as nothing was mentioned about it in the patch notes

    It's part of his update. It looks like Static Blast is going to replace the Static Field and his add-ons are being changed to reflect that. It's even going to be able to apply the afflictions from Iridescent King. They aren't done with his add-ons though. We'll most likely see the rest of the changes when the 3.5.0 PTB is released.

    [BAD WORD], those changes are awful. They made it sound like they wanted to improve him, not nerf him into uselessness. He's already not that great to begin with. Are they nerfing his Static Field because it's powerful on one map?

    I think we should wait until we have the full list of changes before making any judgments. It's obvious that this isn't all of the changes. For all we know, there could be some god tier add-ons that weren't leaked.

    Their track record with changes has not been good. Freddy is the only killer who came out better after they messed with him.

    I guess I should've specified "recently." Legion have been having a bad time of it. Nurse's add-ons needed to be reworked, but... well, one of them now turns her into an M1 killer. And did they keep Spirit's new vault animation where she climbs over the window like the other short killers? Because that looks comically bad.

    I'll admit, though, I'm probably being unreasonable. Ever since the update it's been frame drops and not being able to track anyone on the new map and Oni's power being clunky as hell. I had so looked forward to playing him, he looked so fun in the PTB, and even though I knew that might not translate perfectly on console, I had hope. Then, on top of the translating-to-console issues, he also got nerfed, enough so that I'm seeing people who loved him in the PTB saying they'd rather just play Billy, now. So, not being thrilled with the new update today, it worries me to see a leak of a future update that describes an unwanted (in my opinion) nerf. My friend is taking the hits to the killers harder than I am, and if it keeps going the way it is he's going to stop playing, so more than frustrated I'm also rather sad about it all. It's a bad combination. I apologize for how I come off.

    It look really weird. Iridescent king no longer gives exhaust effect at tier 3, but instead, skill-checks move counter-clock wise? I don't know if that is going to do anything. I mean, the only skillchecks that i have ever not done great skill checks on are 4 clock skill-checks. When you play the game enough, you don't even need to think about skillchecks, you can "feel" them out and they just land on great skill checks. A person could be half asleep and probably hit good skill checks at 100% consistency due to the size. I feel it might better if it was like Hex:Lullaby 5 where you don't hear sound but who knows. People just don't really fail normal skill checks or snap out, they're just too big to really fail especially at the red rank level. They need to be Hex:Ruin size to have any impact. I guess we will see how useful that is in-game. No exhaust add-on makes madness less useful in a chase and he can no longer prevent dead hard, so yay for longer chase times.

    Static blast sounds really cool name, but it seems to only increase madness and madness isn't really lethal by itself so, it just seems like an information tool when you want it.Personally, the only thing i have ever cared for doctor is being able to make reads/predictions with his shock therapy to prevent pallet drops or vaults and you obviously can't really do that if the range is too terrible and it takes too long.

    I remain skeptical of the changes, Most killers either thrive on 1 shots,unpredictability, deception, mobility or something a chase and he kinda falls short not excelling at any of those metrics so I think he will always be regarded as rank 20 meme killer.

    Seeing what you said about skill checks is true... for pc. When i played on my laptop before it broke i hit greats constantly but the frames are inconsistent on console i hit greats but not every single time like i could on pc. Mainly due to delay being able to turn off vsync for example helped on console they feel hella delayed. So much so that doc at the moment scares me when it comes to gens the skill check being all over the screen terror radius making it smaller? I dont like it puts me on edge. In a chase however...... its easy to loop him lol
