just bought this game last Saturday

i have like 30~ hours of playtime. i have played maybe 5 or 6 games tonight, and they have ALL been an absolute nightmare. i am a Rank 18 killer, but in every single game tonight, i have had rank 7 to 11 players consistently. i think maybe a 13 once.

i know that new survivor players exist, i play with them when i am doing the survivor challenges and dailys.

this is not fun. i am being pallet looped, played with, i learned tonight body blocking the hook is a thing in this game, flashlights, decisive strike, and in all my games tonight, i have only killed one dude. i watched him die after they had saved the last 2 hooked people from me and he traded places for my only kill of the night.

this. is. not. fun. why am i playing a game that isn't fun?

Most likely because there are no survivors at your rank, sadly is game Is a nightmare for new players.

All u can do is playing a lot

Unfortunately the way the matchmaker is setup, ppl in the highest ranks are kinda just lumped with whoever, due to how few there are of people at that rank. Pretty sure it'll revert to a 6 rank limit once you hit either rank 14 or 15, cant remember which. Which platform do you play on?

welcome to the game where the survivor is the power role, you will get used to it. there is so few killer players in red ranks nowadays (because being a red rank killer is a stress induced panic attack where you make 1 small mistake you lose instantly) so most red rank killers de rank leaving not enough killers are red ranks so the MANY red rank survivors (since it is so ez to rank up as survivor) they usually get non red rank killers. also the MMer is broken.... again

Yall are always so negative... The guy has already had a rough start, stop trying to make him feel worse.

To the OP...keep at it, the beginning is kinda rough but once the matchmaker settles you with survivors your own lvl... you'll start seeing the GRADUAL rise in difficulty you SHOULD be seeing as opposed to this mashup of experienced players. Don't let these guys get to ya.

Welcome to the fog. I think it’s still too early to say the gaming experience is no good. I also encounter the same as you did, but I would just find a way to enjoy it regardless of the number of kill. The most annoying thing is you can’t find a survivor at all.

Thats why the game is not good for new Killers, you should play with friends in SWF and learn there all the mechanics etc. Or something that I recommand to you, play Kill your Friends, you will learn there alot as Killer especially if you play against good survivors there. Or just get beaten and keep playing. I had alot of unfun at the start too. I started to having fun with kind of 700 hours when I met good friends that I am plaiyng with all the day or chilling all the day in ts just talking with them while I play killer.

Bunch of negative Nancy's in here. jeez

This game honestly takes anywhere between 300-500 hours to get TRULY good at it. Maybe a little more if you play both sides but killer is definitely the easier start. Potato killers beat potato survivors 9/10 times.

You just have to keep at it, learn the maps, learn the mindgames, learn your powers, and hope more new players join the game because I think most of the people who play are above rank 15 and rank reset doesn't allow them to go back under that

just after this post, almost like it was waiting for me to rage a enough to post this, i played against a group of 19-20s. TPKed them. then played against a group of 14-16s and got 2 kills, almost 3 but i misplayed in ways that even i can notice.

i do play with friends when they are awake, but we have very different work and sleep schedules so i try to play Killer on my own.

we all bought DBD this last weekend and mostly have fun there, and i've met a couple cool killers in the 10-14 level range to play with too.

but yeah, this game does need to find a way to match better so that it's playerbase can keep growing. it's not excusable to have a game plan of, "it's fun after you grind for 700 hours"

Welcome to Dead by Daylight! The game that's well renowned for having possibly the worst new player experience in the entire gaming industry.

Everybody here is being so unreasonably negative, and unwelcoming to someone that's clearly new to the game, and is learning what and what not to do.

The way the matchmaking system works is that usually, it won't match you with players more than six ranks above or below you, but it ignores this limit for players at ranks 17-20 because there aren't enough players at those ranks to get good queue times, and the game assumes that you would rather have a badly matched game than no game at all.

As annoying as it is to hear it, it does get better once you get higher in rank. If it helps at all to think of it this way, learning to play against people who are far superior to you in skill level will help you to improve your own skills much faster.

This is common to all online games.

When I started COD 4 all those years ago I got whooped every game.

Streetfighter 4 - yep smashed nearly every match.

There are tons of others as well - just comes with the territory.

You'll learn how to play better, killer takes a lot of practice. It gets more fun, don't listen when people say "survivors are the power role", you'll start blaming that phrase on your losses. Try and find what you could've done better, I do it with every killer I play. The game's rough at the start, but it gets better

This game is extremely polarizing. It can be very fun sometimes, but mostly it is usually meh to extremely unfun/aggravating range.

You can keep playing and just accept the sub-par nature of things or dump the game.

Either way they already have your monies~

It truly does. So several of my coworkers saw footage of me playing the game in both roles and wanted to get it. The problem is i play on Ps4 as do a 2 others and a few have xbox. Xbox was on sale black friday for $150 plus the game pass for 3 months for a $1 including DBD. The 3 of us on Ps4 bought it so we could all play together.

I knew what i was getting into and told these guys before they bought it. The grind, matchmaking, bugs etc.... After the "patch" yesterday and the basement hook thing 3 of the 6 new players said ######### that game let's find something else to play!!!!

    That is Dead by Daylight!!!!
