Play both sides and the game gets way less salty...
It has something to do with understanding what a survivor has to do or why they are doing things a certain way, also why a killer acts the way they do and all that they have to go through.
You can still main one side or the other, but having a balance between both makes for a full and enriching game experience.
That's it....just saying. If all you do is play one side, you are pretty much tunneling yourself towards getting upset and thinking things aren't fair.

If you also play both sides, you can use how you play from the opposing side to help you on the side you're playing on.

When I play survivor too long, I get really bad at looping and time management. Maybe too salty from dying constantly or just getting ignorant. Once I switch it up and get to 1 million bp using killer I am much more mindful of the killer's mindset and much more aware of what the killer is trying to do. This is probably due to the fact that I have it refreshed in my mind that I can capitalize on the killer's mistakes and that if the killer catches my mistake I'm dead. I also like hearing thanks from survivors when I give them the hatch for playing well/respectfully/respectably.

I used to hate survivors with a passion. Like every pallet stun fueled my delusions that every survivor was toxic. But then I started to play survivor more, because red rank killer was so difficult. This led me to experience tons of toxicity from killers, which helped me sympathize with survivors. Plus as I got better at looping, so did I get better at countering loops as killer. Playing both sides is super eye opening on multiple levels. Playing one without the other is like driving a car with one hand exclusively; steering, shifting gears, and using the radio is certainly *possible* with one hand, but using both is better for obvious reasons.

Well said. People will say "Yeah, but I don't enjoy playing survivor/killer" and that's fine. Play however you want. But you can't expect to have a full understanding and appreciation of the game and its balance unless you play both sides and experience things for yourself.
