Playing survivor felt awful this last week
I played many games this last week, and it's gotta be the worst week of DBD survivor i've ever had.
I play each role about 50/50, and I am really trying to finish the survivor challenges in tome level 3, but it seems like survivors were given challenges that are much much harder than the killer ones. At the very least, the hard ones were put at the beginning of the tome level.
I am trying to complete the second survivor challenge (safely unhook 1 survivor during the end game collapse) and I still haven't done it, because I play solo and it's a hard challenge to do anyway.
I have even set my steam name as "need1EGCsave" and I still haven't gotten it, because either a) the killer will tunnel me first, b) the killer goes AFK once the EGC starts, or c) my teammates will steal my unhook right in front of me, even though I tell them beforehand that I need it, AND my name clearly says I need it.
The killers I have encountered were either really bad at the game, even though they were at red ranks, or they played really scummy and were total jerks.

Just wondering what build you were using? My 'steal hook saves' build is usually sprint burst, BT, DS, and Empathy, along with a medkit and purple insta heal. Of course the game needs to reach EGC, but I find that build increases my chances of getting the save.

I was using BT, DS, Dead Hard, and Iron Will. I just switched my normal build around a little (I usually have Kindred instead of BT)

I didn't have much trouble with this one. As long as you run BT and willing to trade spots it shouldn't be too bad.
One I had issues with was Decisive Light. At red ranks it's hard to get a killer not looking at a wall while picking up a survivor. Luckly, you don't need to get the save for it to count. So don't worry about timing, just go for the blind score.

Seems a solid build tbf. There's not much advice I can suggest since a lot of it is luck, but empathy and a speed boost perk really make it easier to be first to the save in my experience.

Telling people you need it is a surefire way to not get it. lol
I'm not sure what to tell you though, I didn't find any of them to be particularly difficult.
I play on PS4 though.

This. I got it last night by hook trading against a NOED Wraith. Because it was a Wraith, having BT didn't even help. I just unhooked and bodyblocked, even though I was on death hook.
I saw the chance and took it, throwing away a ritual (escape with Ace) and a pip just to get it out of the way. Thankfully the hook was close to the exit, because the Wraith downed me and still went after the guy.

Imo the only hard survivor one is safe unhook at end game

I am totally fine with hook trading but I just cant seem to get close to the hooked person before either a) someone else saves them or b) they die/I die

I had no issue with mine once we got to a situation where I could do it - 3-4 matches where it was complete annihilation, or we dominated the killer so no one got hooked. The one that got it for me was a nurse doing proxy (not face) camping so I was able to get them off before she even hit me so they got away freely. I made sure to let my team mates know beforehand that I'm doing it + leave me behind.

I have 3 or 4 tasks to completely finish Tome 3 between Survivor and Killer and it's just not happening. Thankfully I reached the end to be able to move on to Tome 4, but at this point I'm praying rank reset will get me worst players to try to meet the final tasks

To be honest it feels like the queue in survivor takes ages :(

Sadly the new rank reset won't change who you play with at all now, as you only drop down to the next color ie still in range with everyone you're in range with now ><

I know. That's why I'm not playing my normal hardcore way so I can maybe get out of red ranks and at least play in Green ranks for a bit. Killer shouldn't be bad because I'm only 13 as killer.
