One change to slightly nerf genspeeds at red rank
Remove the 2% progression on great skillchecks.
Red rank players will be able to hit these all the time and reduce the time on gens by roughly 10 secs or more on each gen.
Wondering why red rank killers have to run ruin even though red ranks always hit great skillchecks? Because Ruin denies the 2% progress.

Players deserve to be rewarded for hitting great skill checks with a slight boost. It's one of the few things survivors can actually strive to get good at while holding M1 forever.
Regardless, killers don't run ruin to deny the 2% progress lol. It does that, sure, but they're trying to capitalize on players missing the greats. I personally think ruin just discourages new players from playing the game at all and it's not good for the game, but that's a different topic entirely.

A full SWF that can hit ruin is still too fast on some of the bigger maps, but then you also have the issue even brown toolboxes "moderately increase" along side prove thyself... honestly what they should do is just slow the overall gen speed down and change ruin to affect skill checks like overcharge tier 1 with no progression bonus for hitting it, means ranks 10-20 wont struggle with ruin every game and not every killer will run it. seems silly nearly every killer uses ruin because if people cant hit the hex skill checks the difference is insane, thats hoping they dont spawn on it though

ok then what would hitting a great do? Removing it entirely would really be a shame

There needs to be an incentive to stay in the trial longer without artifically prolonging the game.

Then you’d have to make great checks do something else. This also wouldn’t fix gen rush.

They could make gen regression a thing even without ruin and great skill checks just avoid the regression instead of giving you the progression bonus. I also suggested in another thread to make noed basekit and add a totem counter, or make the totems do something else like blocking the exit gates like bloodwarden or something scary and game changing that forces the survivors to cleanse them. Just an idea.

Make ruin punish survivors soloing a gen, make it regress faster and make ruin respawn on another totem after 2 mins.

Cheers, It would only work with the nerf though, ruin slows the game down but it doesnt add anything else and more importantly its not fun. The devs need to change things to make things fun imo.

It should be tied into “this is not happening” for them to appear tbh. If you want great skill-checks run a perk for them honestly.

I have like 3k hours in dbd and also stopped playing for like 3 months about a week ago... I main survivor... maybe you haven’t played as much as me but there needs to be changes to the game and being sarcastic at people’s comments you don’t like is only because you don’t understand the game enough.

The scale of the issue with gen-speed is too high to be ignored, if the devs can be let to fix it in peace... they could give us nice things in return (more fun perks to work with etc)... that’s how stuff works... shrugging off the idea to solve current problems isn’t the answer.
As for solo survivor that mostly sucks because like-wise many killers try to shrug off them getting buffed to SWF level. Both sides are being entitled kids.
