I was a killer 17, not much skills learning the game, i got a lot of game with DC game which make me pips without really playing and drop me down to 12 wihtout having the skills from 17 to 12, Now its been 2 weeks that i am stuck at 12 and not having fun at all as a killer because i only get , 7-8-9-9 or 7-7-7-12 ranking survivor. I search the forums and the Dev talks about the hard limit. Which is ..... fing 6 rank difference.... this is just insane, rank 12 to 7 there is a huge difference. when i get rank 10-11-12-12 the game is pretty even but when it get top 7 and 8 iuts like i can't touch them. So now because of your choice of such a huge hard limit, i started to just quit game and deranked, i have no other choice. The other one is just stop playing... cause its just not fun. Players are sending me stupid message after the game or just having fun TBagging. while looping. I want to learn, i want to get better, but there is a way to do it and progress through the ranking system. Because of the DC issue that btw no penalty are giving for DCing, even after the last patch, which i was hopping fix that issue, i dropped in rank and cause the issue i am having right now.

In resume, you didnt act fast enough on the DCing issue, and that cause a whole lot of others issue to the players.

Make it not a hard limit of 6, but a limit for each rank.

That would probably make your queue time literally half an hour or more, which I wouldn't want to play with personally. Survivors want to play a killer bullying simulator, there isn't much other appeal in the game for them really, generally people play games to feel good about themselves and have a power fantasy. That's just the nature of things

I'm sure that in an ideal world, the devs would like to limit matchmaking to a hard cap of a couple of ranks either way. The problem is that matchmaking, rank and queue times are all inextricably linked, and adjusting one will have an effect on the other two.

Bear in mind that the matchmaking system is universal, and therefore needs to work for all players at all times and in all regions, including ones where there isn't a large playerbase to begin with. So adjusting it to be stricter could have the effect of making queue times far longer in some more populous regions, but in others it might make it impossible to find games at all. Basically, it's a delicate balance to which there is no perfect solution, except to simply expand the playerbase. I expect this is one of the main reasons why the devs are looking into the possibility of implementing crossplay between platforms.

It's also worth noting that grey ranks (17-20) have no matchmaking cap due to the general lack of players at those ranks in any region. Although it would be ideal to be matched with new players like yourself, the game assumes that ultimately you'd rather have a badly matched game than no game at all. Once you get to rank 16 or above, you may find that matchmaking and thus your overall experience improves significantly.

Yup you are right, im happy to get that kind of matchmaking... tell me how is it suppose to be fun for a player to have 8 rank bettter then you against you lol

I think i will prefer to wait longer. last 20 games i played, all players where better ranked them me. isnt it suppose to be around my rank and not always down?

I really don't understand the matchmaking system at all. its one of the worst i have seen in the last 10-15 years to be honest. My guess it has to do with my overall level? they use it to make the difference between a new players rank 14 and an old players rank 14? the problem is that i played mostly Survivor up to Devotion 1. Because i always have friend online to play with. I barely have time to play killer, so if they use that and see me as ... yeah he is 14 but hey he played for a long time so his overall level make him more like a rank 8 lets match him against 6 to 9, because that is the only things i got tbh.

If its like that, its a huge mistake, really bad one.

i had the exact same kind of matchmaking level when i was 12, im deranking like crazy and it does not change, seems like there is no limit in the difference between the ranks. Like im stuck at this hidden rank for the MMR and my rank means nothing. Thats why i think they use the Overall level, other then that i don't see why i always got theses matchs
