I think I know why the killers are being nerfed.
At first some of the nerfs may seem unwarranted but if you look closer what is one of the big things this community wants? (Besides bug fixes)
More objectives- I think the devs are weakening killers so survivors have a higher chance of surviving against them in 15 minutes rather than in 5-10.
It makes sense to me now that they would weaken really strong killers so they couldn’t kill everyone in 3 minutes, they need survivors to last 10-15.
Their building up to this I hope.
And yes this is a guess.

I don't think so. If the devs would add a 2nd objective, they would add the respective killer nerfs at the same time, not earlier.

I don't think there will be a 2nd objective in the foreseeable future. I'd like to have one, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I mean they've been wanting to put in a second objective for a while but they hadn't no idea why maybe a lack of ideas but killers get nerfed and gen speeds remain the same while this happens

It's because they were overperforming. Devs want two people to escape every game, but killers can’t pip if they don’t kill all four so why not nerf them? /yikes

The devs are unable to fix their ranking system. People would actually play and enjoy weaker killers if they would know they can rank up if they play good.

Like how I made it to rank 7 so far with legion.
Then I purchased an obsidian blade since it looks cool and makes me think I’m powerful.

If that was really the case, the smart move on their part would have been to at least let the community know those changes were coming and that was why. Instead they're gonna finish those change and already lost a bunch of people. IF this was true any way. I personally don't think so.
I honestly just think they believed all those killers were too strong/not fun to go against and that's why they think the changes were warranted. Of which I'd disagree with them though.

Yeah if they were doing it they would not skimp on the oppurtunity to ride finally getting a new mechanic/gameplay/objective in the game. They would play it up for months and get all that juicy free advertising.

I actually agree with you on this and it's understandable why it doesn't necessarily make sense. Even Mathiue confirmed that there are going to be secondary objectives. Makes you wonder though, if they're purposely 'tweaking' killers and not doing anything for gen speeds, what do they have planned? I hope it's something really good
