Oni Vs. Hillbilly Vs. Myers (Keep it civil, please)
Before you begin reading this thread, I'm just trying to start a positive discussion for the community to look at Oni versus some killers that have some relation to his mechanics/abilities. Sorry in advance, but there is no TL;DR version. I've recently P2'd Oni and am still playing him after the changes and have made it to both Rank 1 as killer and a survivor, so I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the game mechanics for DBD.
Oni Vs. Billy
In his current form after adjustments, what advantages does Oni have over Hillbilly?
- I personally feel like Oni is more beginner friendly albeit his dash attack takes some getting used to, especially with the added lunge at the end of a dash. He does have a little bit more mind-gaming potential while in sprint than Hillbilly with his strafe, but he does have limited turning ability so he still can be caught up in a loop with lots of tight turns.
- But I feel like Hillbilly far outshines Oni as a killer after Oni's flick adjustments - if you get good with Billy's chainsaw ability, you don't have to do the work of picking up blood orbs, being limited to a timer, and can keep the ability to instadown a survivor throughout the trial at the cost of a small penalty if you whiff/run into an object. Going along with that, you can always charge up your chainsaw and sprint towards them to make up for any lost distance. Billy has Oni's ability to close range insta-down people who find themselves out of place without the camera moving upwards at the slight disadvantage of charging up his chainsaw (but you can hold the charge until you're certain that you'll land the hit, while Oni is eventually forced to charge forward if you hold down the mouse button long enough).
Both killers can be looped by good survivors - there's no doubt about that and is the case with many killers on the killer roster.
Oni Vs. Myers
In his current form after adjustments, what advantages does Oni have over Myers?
- Both share a mechanic in common - you have to find a survivor and gain stalk/blood orbs off of them. However, Oni must first damage a survivor in order to start progressing towards his demon mode. Myers has the ability to stalk survivors from a distance (and remain very stealthy with his small terror radius which is great for early game) to build up his power. Oni has the advantage that it's much easier to apply pressure on generators if the survivors are spaced out and working on gens while he's in demon mode. A small detail to note is that Myers has a limited amount of stalk that he can pull off of each survivor (not that you'll necessarily run out of stalk if you are considerate of making the most out of your T3 mode) while Oni can in theory go into demon mode as much as he wants if any survivor remains injured.
- However, Myers has a few things that can punish survivors much easier. If you wisely 99% the progress bar to T3, you can sneak up on a survivor unannounced with M&A then pop it off. Oni announces map-wide that he's going into his demon mode, so it seems that survivors will drop doing gens and hide in lockers (unless you run Iron Maiden). Demon Oni seems to have pallet destruction potential over T3 Myers (while sprinting at a survivor, otherwise his destruction animation seems like it's just as long as the other killers), while Myers has the upper hand at window potential with loops, especially if you run bamboozle. Myers hurts much more if you lose distance from a survivor, since he has no sprinting ability.
Your thoughts? Please don't start bashing me/other people for my/their opinions - there's enough of that on this forum as it is. If you disagree with me/others, please give a good counter argument rather than "Ok boomer".

idk i feel Oni like you said a begginer billy because I suck ass playing billy tbh I think Oni is better then myers (since he has a very slow early game if survivors denied him of tier 2) , I don't think Oni overpasses Billy at least since the flick nerf which I barely even notice since I never went for flicks anyway

Myers<Oni<Hillbilly
Myers needs some buffs.

Don't you think some comparisons can be drawn between Oni and Plague as well since it's sort of up to the survivors to allow the killer to use their power?

Getting hit isn't normally intentional. And the oni is the one who decides to use his power unlike plague.
2 -
But if the survivors are good they can prevent the killer from using their power can't they?
Survivors choose not to cleanse.
Survivors avoid getting hit and go into stealth mode while the blood rage is active.
I just think they're similar in that regard.

Oni can still get his power without relying on Survivors though as long as he gets that M1 on the 1st Survivor.
Plague is useless in that her power relies on Survivors to cleanse after being vomited on.
Oni will always get his power at least once, Plague next to never gets her power.

Is it possible for the Oni to never get his power due to not finding and injuring survivors?
Then in that case, isn't it possible for very good survivors to avoid getting hit?
While it's an extreme possibility, this is all I'm talking about.

Billy is best. That's all that matters.

Hillbilly is basically Oni on steroids.

"Who's worse? Hitler vs. Stalin?"

Against a competent 115 killer, not getting hit at all is impossible unless you literally hide all game. If you get chased there is a 100% chance you will get hit eventually.

Honestly, i think Myers>Billy>Oni. I come to this conclusion with looking at the best builds for each killer.
Myers got some dirty stealth builds with speed and instadowns (scream for myers, nemesis myers), so he clearly takes the top spot for me.
Billy got basically one really good build: bamboozle - spirit fury+enduring - instasaw. I'm testing something with nemesis atm, but that's not final at all. He's kind of predictable and very loopable. Not my favourite killer and not as strong as Myers imo.
And the last spot takes oni. For obvious reasons. He got a build-up instadown, but no stealth possibilities like myers. Due to the heavy flick nerf his ability is also not that much better than the chainsaw right now. He's just a hillbilly without an ability for most of the game.

With Oni it's more like delaying his power as long as possible, as opposed to not giving it ever like with Plague.
Don't think the two are super comparable.

But once he hits you, you have to heal immediately or you leave blood everywhere.
You can delay it only so long but eventually he will get it.
