Time Bans hurry up!
Do you really think its ok, to let people play like normal, if they dc 2 games in a row? I had two matches with the same people. As soon as they hear the phasing sound of the spirit, they are gone. Yeah thats so fun... waiting 20 min and than get the same trash again.
BTW I got insulted. Its my own fault for playing the killer. You already get your spirit nerf survivors. Jesus... I would like a feature to block people by myself, if they dced in a game before. Sry for this rant... But i have to wait 20 min again. ._.

Not yet. I want them to fix important bugs and glitches before they add penalties.
There are still instances of people getting stuck and either forced to DC or just sit there and do nothing.
Sanctum of Wrath is also too dark. I have a colorblind friend who can't see anything in that map and it is legitimately unplayable.
Not to mention other occasions where dedicated servers might just cause someone to inexplicably drop.
I want people to be banned for dc'ing, but not if they're innocent.
2 -
Yes, thats true but if they leave by clicking the button, they should be banned. And they clicked this button. All 3 were in the afterchat and isulted me. They watched how i let the last one go.
I'm sure the devs can track, if the button is clicked.

I think the point they're trying to make is that sometimes people are forced to use that button for innocent reasons. That's why the button exists in the first place. And they're right, the devs made the right call by delaying implementing the penalties until such gamebreaking bugs get fixed.
In the meantime, next time you come up against people like that who DC as soon as they realise you're playing Spirit, maybe write down their usernames, so that you can avoid getting into a game with them in the future.

I'm colorblind as well, and yeah, that map is a pain. I just power through it. Wish they would add a colorblind mode.

I'd say dodge the lobby, but the 20 minute wait times are making that extremely hard to suggest.

So, with all the broken things in game, like falling through the floor etc, that literally force people to disconnect...you're suggesting they punish people for it?
I mean, I get it . DC's suck, especially when you're trying to do a challenge or a daily...but they need to fix the technical issues that force people to DC first. Any other option, or opinion, yours included, is incorrect. It's not even up for debate. It's flat out wrong.

DCs have been an issue for far too long, you could use this same line of reasoning each patch because of the bugs, e.g. Old Tinkerer, Wake Up during GF release, Basement Hook falling.
DC-ing is pathetic and it has to be punished.
1 -
And they will be - after they fix the other issues. Old tinkerer and wake up were terrible bugs, and lots of killers DID disconnect for wake up, but they didn't literally prevent people from interacting in game, like the basement bug did, and therefore are not comparable.
I'm sorry, but your frustration does not outweigh logic and rationality.
1 -
There are issues every patch is my point. There is always an issue. You can't keep putting it off to wait on other issues. My frustration with the problem is valid and has been valid during the past two years of playing this game so apologies if I don't have the patience of a Saint on the issue anymore.
1 -
There are issues every patch. You're exactly right, but:
A) They are not all of this magnitude and don't directly force people to DC like some of the current bugs do.
and
B) I didn't say it wasn't valid. I said it wasn't a priority.
and C) There are issues with every patch, as you stated, sure, and even the devs are recognizing that they can't punish people for something their shoddy testing has forced players to do.
Maybe you should go take a siesta, and come back when you're calm and have the capacity to be more rational about this. This is the anger talking.
0 -
I am calm, I'm just disagreeing with your point.
You clearly aren't affected by the DC issue as much as myself. It's more annoying than the frequent bugs.
0 -
I have people DC all the time. I literally just had an entire team DC. I was playing as Trapper of all things. Doesn't stop me from being rational.
1 -
Therein lies my point. People still abuse the system. You can't defend every single DC on 'oh but there are still bugs'.
At what point will DCs become the #1 priority? Because it seems to me that it has been put on the backburner for too long. It's massively unfair and ruins the game.
I myself would expect punishment and would willingly accept it if anything happened. Other games like CS:GO, LoL have bans implemented for example. If only there was a way for a husk to be left for DC-er before time could run out much like the listed games have respectively.
1 -
You can't defend every single DC, but you also can't ban those who are forced to DC. DC's can only become the number one priority when the things that actually force people to DC are gone. Period. It's not a matter of opinion, and you really need to embrace rationality and be reasonable.
0 -
No, because there will always be an excuse. The rational way forward is to implement the change, otherwise it is never going to happen.
There will always be bugs, you know it and I know. I know this game too much to not know it. Please stop trying to demean me by saying that my argument is not rational as it is coming over as quite patronising please.
4 -
You're still arguing something that isn't a matter of opinion. Yes, DC's suck. Yes, it sucks for both killers and survivors. In order to punish people for DC's, you have to remove every JUSTIFIABLE reason that makes, or forces them to DC. Period. It's not up for debate, cause the devs side with me.
You are incorrect, and you will always be incorrect. There's no version of this where your unbridled passion and quite honestly, immature self-righteous demeanor on the matter is correct.
It's not demeaning to say your argument isn't rational. I'm sorry if you feel patronized about it - but when you refuse to listen to reason and would rather punish innocent people for the actions of bad apples, that is irrational. So again, come back with a rational argument.

There will be suicides on hooks. I dont mind bans, but I dont think it will significantly change the picture. Only killers will get 20k more bp (if BBQ).
0 -
There you go, 'my opinion is correct, yours is incorrect'.
Thanks for showing that you are completely inept and unable to have a debate on a topic. I'm not listening to someone who thinks they know better with an opinion that isn't a fact.
I simply said that I disagreed with you, no need to be so immature and salty just because I am very passionate about DC-ers. Grow up.
0 -
Except it's not just my opinion. The devs side with me. I have actual, rational justification. The one thing you're missing. We did debate. You presented a point, I countered it with a rational response, and you just continued to stomp your feet like a child and say "NO CUZ DC's MAKE ME MAYAD!" so to speak. It's not just an opinion, it's a fact that you can't, in good business punish people for something they are forced to do. I also made light of the fact that ragequits exist, but until the issues forcing DC's are fixed, it's immoral to ban or punish people for being forced to disconnect. I'm sorry if you can't process that.
I am in no way being immature. Immaturity comes from the one refusing to listen to reason. As for being salty...I don't think anyone is going to look at both of us and call me the salty one. You're the aggressive one here. Don't try to take the intellectual high ground. You jumped the shark on that 3 posts ago.

So what happens when my wifi suddenly drops for a second kicking me from the game? Do I get time banned?
1 -
Of course, like in League of Legends, Smite or any other game with a ranking system out there.
Edit: After writing this comment I realised those games have the "reconnect" option if you DC. So ignore my comment above. DbD needs a reconnect option too.
0 -
That is not at all what I said. In the least. I merely stated that you can't punish for disconnects when there's things (bugs, glitches, exploits etc) that exist in the game that force people to disconnect. Until those are cleaned up, you can't implement a DC punishment of that magnitude. It's not a matter of it being my opinion, it would just be bad for business.
As for me being immature and salty, not sure where you get that from. *You've* been the aggressor here with the personal attacks. Take a breath. I know it's frustrating, but don't let it cloud your moral core.
To addon to the disconnect option, I don't think it would work. For all you know the survivor would simply be dead when they log back in, unless their husk is gone from the game until they get back. I feel like in a game like this it could be abused, though.
Also, even if they didn't have the disconnect options, those are Free to Play games. DBD isn't, and people invest hundreds, sometimes thousands into cosmetics and DLC's. They need to fix issues that force people to DC. "Force" being the key word.

At least give us our bbq stacks
0 -
Time-outs aren't going to fix DCs, they're just going to inflate hook suicides.
1 -
If it had that option I wouldn't mind.
0 -
No one is being forced to dc...if youre hooked in the basement, wait it out like a champ...
0 -
Spirit was hardly nerfed. Wow collusion is gone. Big woop. Used beads to meme like twice. Shes still easy and cheesy to use. I love her but she needs a real nerf. I don't blame survivors for dcing against me. I play pretty nice but most hate her gameplay. It's not very engaging for them.

No, if the game throws a player out of the world and takes away their entire ability to actually play, DCing is absolutely fair. The devs postponed their DC bans for this kind of thing.
